Si Racha, where I could lose my shirt!

I tripped down to Si Racha yesterday or maybe it was the day before. I've been scouting around for a shop-house to buy in Chonburi for a bit now & think I may have found the ideal one, but that's for another thread.

I use the toll way to get into Chonburi city as it's less congested & you can go as fast as you like, or at least as fast as you can get out of your vehicle. The Bangna Trad road is scary, when driving at speed, especially with those huge humps every now n' again. Not to mention the U-Turns, accidents just waiting to happen, imo.

We went to a nice seaside spot for some mid-afternoon lunch. the name of which escapes me. A green to anyone who can correctly name the location.

Just opposite where we ate was a nice boat, however I don't have any idea where it was going. A visa-run perhaps.

A shot of one of our dishes. basically it was some crab & Indian tasting sauce. A green to anyone naming the dish.

In the middle of lunch two blokes came wandering in, they proceeded to Thai wai all & sundry, which was nice. They were Germans, I could tell cos one had Stuttgart emblazzend(sp) on his T-Shirt. That & they were speaking rather loud 'German'.

i would have said hello but I've had two bad experiences with Germans lately, but that is for another thread.

Didn't know what day it was, didn't know where he was, didn't know the name of the food he ordered.

He's either found someone's camera or he was blind drunk! Judging by the blurry shot of the Germans i'd say he's been on the sauce.

It's called a CRAFT moment - "Can't remember a feckin thing". Comes with age - I seem to be getting them more and more these days.

You know, when you go into the kitchen to get something and then stand around wondering what the hell you're doing there!!

Nope, I never drink & drive. I didn't want to make it too obvious to our German friends that I was snapping them, as they were much bigger than me & might have took offense.

Not much of a memory, but enough to remember that it ain't fun getting your ass kicked by a big kraut.

Maybe this should be moved to MKP seeing as there's no info for other travellers?

The small island, connected to the mainland by a bridge is called Koh Loy.

Phu Phad Pong Kari (Sp?) - Crabs fried in yellow curry powder.

The boat is a ferry that goes to Koh Sichang - about 12km from where you were eating. It takes about 40min to get to the island. The island is quiet, except on Thai public holidays. The swimming and fishing are great, and the accommidation is cheap, but don't tell anybody. I don't want too many tourists discovering the place.

bongthom, I see you have had a few island breaks on your holiday.

A fit young lad like you would love cycling around Koh Sichang. It's a bit hilly but you could cover every road on the island in half a day.

The proper Thai name for this Crab Curry is "Poo Pong Qadi" (the spelling may be off just a little but that is the Thai name)...

I just stayed a night in SiRacha, I liked it.
Those boats are probably going to Ko Si-Chang which sounds interesting too.

There appear to be WoonSen (glass) noodles mixed in with those crabs.

So it would be "Boo Oop Woon Sen"
