    A dodgy statement

Teaching In Thailand Teaching in Thailand can be a great career with salaries in the range of $2,500 to $6,000 per month

This is above the first thread in the teaching forum but it seems like DD is pulling a prank with that statement. I don't think international school teachers make $6000 a month but the better ones pay about $3000, so I've heard. Anyway I wanna know where I can teach for $6000 a month

There are certainly a few pesitions in Thailand that pay $ 6,000 per month buy you are unlikely to see them advertised.

a $72,000/yr english teaching position in thailand? i strongly doubt it.

i just got info from thormaturge that there are select administrative positions at a couple of schools that pay this type of salary...and this quite likely is accurate.

but i'll restate my position that is very unlikely that there is a 72k/yr english teaching position in thailand.

    but, anything is possible....

yeah....but as i'm sure you're aware, there are still some good paying english teaching jobs here....but not quite that good.

IMO if you want to make more than 40K in asia, your choices are pretty much limted to japan, korea, and taiwan.

The two schools concerned do certainly have teachers earning $ 6,000 per annum for teaching in Thailand.

I also know Principals who teach in addition to their administrative duties and earn such money.

Sorry if my cryptic comment on your "green" didn't make this clear
    RC.

It would be fair to say these positions do not get advertised on Ajarn.

    sorry, yes per month.

Not particularly commonplace but enough that I am no longer surprised by the figures.

Then of course there is the bald-headed wonder who I have bumped into three times in one month.

Jaysus, wot a load of shite posted above, i earnt that (per month) no problems, couple of years back, as an ordinary teacher.

so to answer the OP - yes, it can be earned in thailand, but that would be the top end of the scale, (not includind Admin postions, which earn more)

33baht to the dollar, dollar aint worth a lot these days, I think you will find the figures I used are pretty representive for qualified skilled educators and fok witt shelf stackers who do a week long course

I agree it looks misleading due to using dollars and pounds, but as it is aimed at teachers we can safely assume that their reading and comprehension skills are quite good
