    Branstons

One of the few good things to come out of the English culinary kitchen is Branstons pickle. A great little addition to ham & cheese snacks, but its difficult to find and bloody expensive so I make my own.
The problem is obtaining Swede and mustard seeds, the Swede I get by with substituting white radish, in fact if anything I think its better but can't find mustard seeds here.
The last lot I made I used some I had brought from Aust but searched high & low, well Lotus & Tops and cannot find them. Anyone got any clues ?

^^ Have, la. I used them for making dill pickles. Think I got them at the wet market.

Fairly easy to find in Bangkok but that is not a perfect solution for you PP I guess.

Recently the Villa on Sukhumvit Soi 11 has been selling Branston Pickled Onions. Very good imo. So far the best I have found in Thailand

My mum brought me out their full new range.

they do a mustard pickle, a jalapino one, a ginger one and something else as well as the original.

yes, Rimping ChiangMai has it, but it's well over 300 baht.

Makro in Bangkapi now has a really good herb & spices section, not sure if they have the same in other branches.

Makro here have an impressive herbs / spices section, but its got 15 different brands of Chilli powder, pepper, tumeric, coriander powder, 5 spice. That the range, Cannot understand why they don't have fewer brands but a bigger range of products.

Anyway made it this morning without the Mustard seeds but lots of other good shit in it, tastes alright so far but it has to be left for 3 weeks to round off the flavour, before it should be used.

Bought mustard seeds two days ago in Foodland (Samut Prakan) but they should have them in all the stores I would imagine.
