Teakdoor photo competition(s) 2017

Following on from last year's photo competition, here is this year's photo competition. In another thread (can't find it now), I made some suggestions to hopefully improve the competition and increase participation. I can't remember the exact details, but I think they went something like this.

A monthly competition with a different topic/theme each month.
Each month sees 3 weeks of entries followed by one week of voting.
So a winner each month and twelve in a year.
In the last month of the year (or possibly the month later), an additional competition for the best photo of the year (from all monthly winners).
Monthly winning restricted to 2 monthly wins per person per year and the yearly final.
Entries restricted to 1 photo per person per monthly competition.

Suggested themes (mine and Chittychangchang's so far) include:

animals
birds
insects
humans
rural scenery
urban scenery
beach/sea/sand/shores
holiday type photos
weird stuff
machinery
vehicles
black and white
food and/or drink
parties/celebrations
cultural activities and/or events
Spirit houses

naughty but nice

Crapist pic known to mankind

As it is now 9 January, this month will only have 2 weeks of accepting entries - from now until midnight (Thai time) on 24 January. Then a week of voting.

Local railway station. The trains have only one line so they have to cross at this station where there is a twin track. Not that interesting but I have finally worked out how to post a pic on this convoluted system and this was a trial run. now just have to learn to size pic right. The pink hat in the foreground is Lady Cow.

You might want to add “my 4 walls” as a theme to increase the participation (or my toilet/refrig/porch/bottle of booze/stool/etc). Seems to be more than enough members here that don’t have a life and would like to be considered in the competition.

When are the judges going to announce their results? I think new year's day is the standard.

Voting will be by a poll of members - once each month and one special poll for the whole year (best of 12 winners). Exact date to be decided for the whole year vote but year end or first week of 2018. Or something like that.

You might want to add “my 4 walls” as a theme to increase the participation (or my toilet/refrig/porch/bottle of booze/stool/etc). Seems to be more than enough members here that don’t have a life and would like to be considered in the competition.

I will not get out in to the water till the end of the month and I usually get lucky with underwater shots,.....

Those are not entries. They were not taken this month and why I’m pushing for a full month (giving me a chance).

Anyway the first one I posted of the manta isn’t mine but something I might see down south (this month).

The ones of mine below aren’t entries either (killer whale bait),…

Just to reiterate for those who missed it, only one entry per member per monthly competition. I will accept the first photograph posted by each member as their one and only entry.

Never knew. However please don’t include any of the pictures I have posted to date to the animal month. I would rather enter a picture with a short story, like what the girlfriend has been known to get in the water with when I do post a picture.

When do you plan to hold a flower month? Northern hemisphere spring? April?

I might be able to contribute at that time,……

Or will April be sexy wet Thai girls month because of Songkran?
