    Bobcock in Japan

I have so much annual leave stored up, I need to take a weeks holiday in each of Feb, March, April and May......

So... February I had a week in Tokyo.... what a city, one of the greatest I have visited and to be honest I think I made a tiny stratch on the surface of it. Sadly I didn't get the chance to meet up with Wally Dorian but if he talks as much bollocks in person as he does on the cricket thread, that was a blessing.

Because of Chinese New Year we had to change hotels halfway through the trip so we had 4 days staying at Akasaka-Mitsuke and 4 days at Kurumae, Asakusa.

These are some of my better shots from the trip, though I'm only 20% through processing so they may take a while to all get posted.

The Tori Gates at the Hie Shrine, close to my first hotel in Akasaka.

5 Tiered Pagoda at Senso-Ji Temple in Asakusa, Tokyo. This picture was taken in the pouring rain and wind that sadly ruined many of my shots with water droplets on the lens. You can see the rain in the spotlight.

    Next two....

    The main gate at Senso-Ji

This one shows the rain I had to deal with during my first trip to Senso-Ji....the Skytree behind is covered on cloud, hardly visible if not done on a show exposure.

It's a top city. The craziest in the world. Haven't been since 2 trips in 2010.

    Skytree wasn't finished then.

Excellent thread. How is the weather this month temperature-wise? I am waiting until it warms up in April.

Apart from the one day of rain it was clear skies between 8 and 11 degrees, just perfect for playing rugby.

I wasn't cold at all, my son was, particularly at the rugby where there was a bit of a wind.

Sorry, I lost track with this thread, I'm off on the trip I've always wanted to do tonight, last minute decision based on some good luck..... or I've been lied to and I will be sleeping rough for the next 5 nights in Anadpur Sahib, India. I also had to photograph a rugby tournament over the weekend. Sadly I had a CF card failure and lost over 700 shots.....

Anyway, Back to Japan..... I visited the Robot Restaurant in Shinjuku, this place was awesome fun, the kids loved it. It's really difficult to phograph as you cannot use a flash and a lot of the action is backlit making the stars into silhouettes....

But here's a selection of some of the shots.

When you arrive you sit in a bar area and are entertained by the robot band.

From the show itself, just managed to get enough light on this guy

There is of course a large number of dancing girls in the show.... this was the best of the lot based on personality, looks and legs as voted on by the three male members of the Cock family.
