    Laokhao Nectar

Seeing as there doesnt appear to be many brewers of the pale ale, i will move to plan B.
Laokhao a fiery spirit with a massive punch, and cheap if bought of the local still man.
There are many varieties flavoured with all types of additives.
a lot of expats frome saudia arabia will relate to this link as booze was hard to source
    EXPATS.org.uk - FEATURES - ALCOHOL - THE BLUE FLAME
It shows how to make a still and recipies for flavouring the end result. another link is
    EXPATS.org.uk - FEATURES - ALCOHOL - WHITE LIGHTNING

But if you are lazy and dont have the time to distil consider the alternatives.
Get the laokhoa hopefully it is high quality which can be checked with a Alcometer, which will tell you the purity of the liquid 90% and up.There will be some impurities at this level and the best way is to slow drip it through a charcoal filter.Get from pet shops they sell charcoal bead pellets just find a suitable container and gravity drip it through a tube filled with the charcoal, make sure you put a cone shaped paper filter where it drips out.Or buy one fom the Z filters from the link below stillspirits
This can not be drunk at this level and needs to be watered down. to acceptable 40%
So now you have 40% firewater what do you use to flavour it ?
The above links have tried and true recipies which will give you your favourite spirit you like to drink. A lot of people are under the misconception that all good whiskeys and bourbons are still done in oak casks.
Fraid not, think about say JD and the amount that is sold world wide
Conservatively 6.5 million bottles per year or more. That is a lot of oak barrels.
Nearly all spirits sold have artificial flavours added to them.
So what to add to the base spirit you now have.
there are several options the link below sells these flavours already made up
Still Spirits - fermentation new zealand spirits nz home brew
they have top shelf classics/top shelf spirits/top shelf liqueuers/schnapps/cream liqueuers.
Some of the recipies with these essence packs are very close if not on the mark. And oak chips as well. Some essences will flavour 2 x 1 lt bottles out of the small bottle or essence packs.
A lot of flavour essences can be purchased at the local supermarket.
Sure you can buy your favourite booZe at the local, but mixing your own and coming up with different tastes is magic,
Saying that i have had some disasters but no more now. besides you can still drink your mistakes.
this company in texas is priced well for essences $2.20 each
    Brewhaus (America) Inc.- Liqueur Essences

    another is aussie
    Prestige spirit essences
    for whiskeys and burbons

Hum, it will maybe taste different than lao khao but it's still poor quality flavoured rice alcohol isn't it ? Same hangover the next morning.

Cannot be compared to a good single malt or a nice Calvados.

    Wrong!
No hangover - unless you mix with beer.

And it does become rather palatable after soaking herbs, woodchips or dried fruits in it. Maturing in bamboo tubes adds an interesting flavour as well.
