Not for me I'm afraid - 'twee' is the adjective that springs to mind. There's no contest for me when it comes to the 'Beatles or the Stones'

I remember someone once jokily commenting on Ringo Starr...."Well be honest, Ringo wasn't the best drummer in the world....Let's face it, he wasn't even the best drummer in the Beatles"

It's often voted one of the top albums 'of all time'....I'm playing Sweet Thing as I type....Yeah, it's good...but that bloody Moondance, don't get me started on that....

I like the song Born in the USA - A good opportunity to have a good old shout out loud, especially when when out driving....Sometimes I try to get the other passengers on the bus to join in but they're just not interested....Still, I always get a seat to myself.

The Rolling Stones: In my opinion over hyped because of their longevity.

Not a scratch on Ian Dury, Supertramp or The Kinks, the Stones just don't know when to quit and their popularity is mostly down to a nostalgic middle aged audience.

This is bound to upset some posters who link the band to many happy memories and feel they have 'grown old' with the four men, but it's just my opinion. I'm sure they have some okay songs but none have particularly struck me as anything more special than anything Manfred Mann have done, certainly nothing to compete with 'My Name Is Jack' or 'Ha ha said the Clown'.

Paint It Black I found shoulder shruggingly tawdry, though 'You Can't always Get What You Want' had a bit more promise.
