    OK, them be Balutes then,, but look like chicken eggs, I think that croc eggs have a leathery tough skin like turtle eggs, seems they are peeling a hard shell off them.

    Banbueng Crocodile Egg Eaters Overwhelmingly Win Pattaya Competition

    BANBUENG CROCODILE EGG EATERS OVERWHELMINGLY WIN PATTAYA COMPETITION

    The Million Year Stone Park and Crocodile Farm organized the annual Crocodile Egg Eating Competition on Labour Day to promote and conserve the crocodile egg eating culture in the Eastern Region, as well as to promote good public relations for the park and crocodile farm. 50 competitors entered this year, both Thai and foreigners.

    This year’s competition was chaired by Mr. Prateep Jongsueptham, the Banglamung District Sheriff, with illustrious officials in attendance including Mr.Chanyut Hengtrakul, former Member of Chonburi City Zone 7, Mr. Surat Mekawarakul, President of Cultural Council of Banglamung and Mr. Suan Phanomwatanakul, President of Cultural Council of Chonburi.

    The Rules Of Competition were:
    1. each competitor must eat 10 boiled crocodile eggs;
    2. the one who finishes eating first, within 10 minutes, will be the winner.

    As soon as the whistle blew to start the competition, all competitors did their best to consume all their eggs as quick as possible, spurred on by the raucous cheers of the spectators.

    After 10 minutes, the prediction that the previous 2 years’ winner would more than likely win again proved correct as Mr. Nopanan Parnsaengthong, (37) competitor No. 7, from Banbueng, Chonburi, devoured all the reptilian “delicacies” in record time. He duly received 10,000 Baht cash and a certificate. The First Runner Up was Mr. Udom Buut-ngam (42), competitor No. 3, also from Banbueng, Chonburi who got 5,000 Baht cash and a certificate. The Second Runner Up was Mr. Somkuan Tung-Mueng, (38), competitor No. 11. from Banbueng, yet again, who received 3,000 Baht cash and a certificate.

    In addition to the delights of the croc egg eating-frenzy, there was also a concert featuring such entertaining comedians as Noo Mitor, Ying Thitigarn, Moncan Gankoon, O Sayan & A Sanya.
