Mark you don't state whether they need to be Thai or an expat fluent in thai or whatever. Are you selling here or abroad. What type of product ?

Probably not going to see this guy again - post and go. Even I know to post a bit more detail - how money to be made, what exactly they are marketing, etc. Maybe he needs to learn a bit more on how to market employee listings....

I know Mark and he's a genuinely nice guy. He's also a Yank, so making mention to salary probably doesn't even cross his mind (although I do think the OP says nationality is not an issue)

Mark - why don't you outsource if the company is a start-up and wait until things get more stable?
