Why do the poms bend over to take it from the seppos

A BRITISH computer expert accused by Washington of the world's "biggest military hack of all time" should be extradited to the US to stand trial, a court ruled today.

Gary McKinnon, 40, was arrested last June following charges by US prosecutors that he illegally accessed 97 government computers – including Pentagon, US army, navy and NASA systems – causing $US700,000 ($905,970) worth of damage.
This 'hax0r tewwowist' who logged onto US defence computers using vnc to systems with no set admin password with access from 'tinternet and was looking for suppressed 'evidence of ufo's ' will be extradited to the USofA's shores to face up to 70 years guantanamo bay when he really needs a psycological assesment and a smack on the pee pee.

england who has an extradition treaty with america is not afforded the common courtesy of the reverse - what a bunch of sausage suckers. sad.
If you torture data for enough time , you can get it to say what you want.

hacking with VNC ? now that's funny. Who was stupid enough to put a computer on the Internet with VNC running !!! at that level, it's not hacking, it's stupidity. The owner of the computer should be the one in jail.

    Yep, that's the poms.
We other Euros think the US should pack their cases and treaties, and mind their own business on their side of the pond.

There should offer him a job, he obviously knows more about security than their experts.

not sure. Hacking with VNC is not really hacking. More like someone who broke into a house with an open door. Not much value for expertise

I will give you an example of not bending over when Loong Sam says you should. 20 odd years ago, New Zealand which at that time was a Staunch allie of the US said, no nuke warships on our patch. The US kicked NZ out of its ANZUS pact, it downsized its embassy, for months afterwards if you arrived in the US from NZ on the national airline the flight stood a good chance of sitting out miles away from the terminal while they "identified the baggage". many other irritating procedures. Even now while they still have military excercises with the Ozzies ( who have always been only too willing to get it up the arse from uncle) they (the US) still won't involve NZ.
sorry about the spelling, red wine haze !

The Poms have a bit of a problem with who to ally with.

We've been kicking Euro but (generally) for the last thousand years or two, so it's habit to piss on them, but most Poms can't stand the dimwit Seppos either.

Personally, I think we should side with Europe after taking away all the rights of the French to determine Europe's direction.

Snobbery doesn't sit well with me. Doesn't matter if you're a seppo, Limey or Pom ... if you come across as a snob you can piss off. Otherwise I'll piss in your Wheaties. Pretentious Anglos do tend to make my stomach curl for some reason.

Can someone please explain this to me? A British citizen is extradited to the US for breaking US laws while he was firmly placed on British soil?

What's next - sending adulterers to Saudi for stoning because they broke Saudi laws? Why don't, say the Iraqies, ask to have Bush delivered to them to stand trial for war crimes?
Any error in tact, fact or spelling is purely due to transmissional errors...

how about being extradited to the US when Porn becomes illegal there ? you watch porn on US servers from Europe but you will break US laws so you will have to face charge there. It's coming, mark my words.

The US made a point of not signing extradiction treaties.
Another nice little dbl standard by the Bush admin.
Don't understand why the Brits take it, they're not exactly known for sucking up to anyone over in Europe.

Well, we all agree that Kerry wouldn't have been the best choice. He would have won though if you brown shirts didn't steal the vote again in Ohio.

Still, even if he had won, it would have been a big mistake. Bush Jr would have gotten away with his fuckup and would have been remembered as an hero by the republicans and his supporters. By giving him another chance, history is catching up and fucking him over for good. Now everybody hates him and he is going down in flame like a Japanese Zero

    Thank God he got re-elected.

Really the Americans trying to extradite a citizen of another country is another example of colonialism.

I am not sure what to say about the subject. Either way it is fugged up. How would you feel If a american hacked into your countries DOD files? Personally if it was my countryman who did it to you. He should go to jail even if it is your jail.
Why do we think we are so good I don't know. But then again show me a person who does not like himself And I will show you a depressed Fugged up person.

apart from being sad from the point of view that this 'l33t hax0r' needs medical help more than anything else and not be used as a deterrent or scapegoat.

how long before these extradition and free trade treaties are used to prosecute people under US patent and copyright law ? it is not a co-incidence that the main lobbyists ( legal subjugators of a democratic system ) behind the recent spate of FTA's represented the MPAA , RIAA and the pharmaceutical companies.

Efforts by US prosecutors to get an Australian judge to extradite a man they say helped to lead the DrinkOrDie software network, have failed.
American authorities wanted Australia to hand over Hew Raymond Griffiths, 42, who lives in New South Wales, on the grounds that he had a major involvement in the (in)famous group.

"To hear the federal government and piracy experts describe it, DrinkOrDie, the network of software crackers that was the focus of worldwide anti-piracy law enforcement action on Tuesday, is the al-Qaida of Internet software theft," says Farhad Manjoo in a Wired story
    http://www.wired.com/news/technology...,49096,00.html

and yet they refuse to sign extradition treaties , refuse to allow any of their citizens to be tried as war criminals etc etc.

If the UK government had a shred of decency left at all (which it doesn't), it would refuse to extradite UK citizens to any state which (a) kidnaps people; (b) jails people without charge; (c) denies prisoners access to family and lawyers; (d) flies people around the world to be tortured; (e) executes minors; and (f) says it does all these things in the name of freedom.

The sleep of reason brings forth monsters.
