Tot dies after being shoved into a washing machine for being naughty

AN angelic boy of three died after being stuffed into a washing machine by his father who then started the cold wash cycle. Christophe Champenois forced naked Bastien into the machine and let it run for several minutes after he misbehaved at nursery.
Mum Charlene, 25, rescued Bastien and dashed around to a neighbour named Alice and told her he had fallen down the stairs.

The neighbour said: “I picked him up and his limbs were as loose as a rag doll. I felt his heart beat for the last time and then he died.” Bastien is said to have thrown a classmate’s drawing down a toilet that day. He died of multiple injuries to his head and body.
His sister Maud, five, later told their neighbours in Meaux near Paris her dad had repeatedly abused Bastien, once locking him in a cupboard for two hours and also leaving him on a balcony wrapped in a blanket. A police spokesman said a 33-year-old man arrested for the murder of a minor will be in custody until a trial date can be set.
The man’s wife was arrested for non-assistance of a person in danger, the spokesman added

I think he should go through as many years of torture and abuse in prison as the child did.

The same for his wife, who sounds like another Karla Homolka in the making. Both she and her lovely husband, Paul Bernardo are from the same town that my mother is from, so we are very close to the story.

Kids frequently perish because of neglect and violence - usually parental, but sometimes by the USA dropping bombs on their school.

The only reason this death makes for a story is because of the tag 'washing machine'.

If Christophe had died from a beating, no publicity would ensue.

Poor poor little boy. RIP young one.

Truly evil parenting. It's never going to happen but IMO parental guidance classes should be compulsory across the board for all parents of newly borns.

Some parents obviously cannot distinguish a child from an inaminate object.

    Astonishing.

I wish this thread would go away. Everytime it pops up and I read the title, it makes me feel sick. How can people be so awful to defenseless children?

Poor little one. He suffers no more.

    Bullshit.
The most emotive thing about this is the word 'father'.

Doesn't matter what makes you emote.

Do you see hundreds of stories about infants being maimed by their parents?

What makes this a story is the mechanism by which he was killed. If his Father had used his fists, it wouldn't have been reported.

In the same way as the reason why the death of the little girl in Foshan became a story was because it was on video. If no video, another road death statistic wouldn't have made an impact.
