LONDON (AP) — A Royal Navy sailor has pleaded guilty to murdering an officer and shooting at three other crewmen in a gun spree aboard a British nuclear-powered submarine.
Able Seaman Ryan Donovan admitted Monday that he killed Lt. Cmdr. Ian Molyneux, the weapons engineer on HMS Astute, while the submarine was docked in Southampton on a goodwill visit to the port city in April.
He also admitted the attempted murders of Petty Officer Christopher Brown, Chief Petty Officer David McCoy, and Lieutenant Commander Christopher Hodge.
Donovan, who is 23, made his plea at Winchester Crown Court.
