World's fastest street car - a Vauxhall Victor

World's fastest street car is an Andy little 250mph Vauxhall Victor

Andy Frost's turbo-charged Vauxhall Victor clocks 400kph (250mph), making it the world's fastest street legal car.

The souped-up motor can rocket the driver from 0-60 in under one second, and has a built-in parachute.

Not bad for a standard saloon he bought for £60 in 1980.

The car fanatic has devoted over 1,600 hours to painstakingly crafting the sports car in his garage, and the project has cost him an estimated £100,000 in total.

'I've spent £4,000 a year and I’m always trying to improve it,' said Mr Frost, 50, from Wolverhampton.

He added: 'It is a bit like Trigger's broom in Only Fools and Horses - I've changed so many parts that it has evolved into a super car from just a bog standard Vauxhall with nothing done to it.

'It is hardly recognisable from the the car I first bought.

He should have started out with a Firenza. Better lines to build on.

250mph is hauling thats for and is faster than a Macca F1 but falls 17mph short of being "the fastest street car" to the Veyron SS.

I would be interested in what the engine is, cube capacity and what turbo's it is running.

Would love to see this thing go out for an hour or two long cruise around the countryside, it is supposedly a street car so should have no issues with doing this.......................................
