Justin Alan Woodward Arrested, Accused Of Threatening To Kill Joe Biden

A former U.S. service member arrested in Honolulu for allegedly sending emails from Thailand threatening to kill Vice President Joe Biden has been ordered held without bail. Justin Alan Woodward appeared Wednesday in federal court in Honolulu for a detention hearing. He was arrested last week at the Honolulu airport when he arrived on a flight from Bangkok.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Thomas Brady says the judge determined Woodward was a flight risk and a danger to the community and ordered him held without bail.
Woodward's public defender declined to comment.
According to the criminal complaint, Woodward admitted to agents that he wrote the threatening messages. He told officials he was medically discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps for bipolar disorder.
Brady says Woodward was deported from Thailand after being arrested for assault.
