I'm not with the alarmists on either side. I see it as being about 75/25 that something is going on that might be mitigated by cutting greenhouse gases. I don't see the downside to cutting greenhouse gases. In fact, I see a lot of upside, some of it practical and demonstrable already. Japanese companies make a big fuss about their efforts to combat GG emissions. I suspect it is mostly bogus concern about the environmental side. Corporations are by nature sociopaths. The thing is, they save a lot of money in the long run by doing so, and are not blindsided by big fuel price hikes. Is there some negative side effect to efforts to cut the use of fossil fuels and conserve energy? I guess so if you are Exxon Mobil or BP. Nice company you scientifically-illiterate denierati keep.

I find it strange but all of these evil global conspiracies of the worlds scientists only seem to exist in areas of science that threaten the interests of rich american corporates. These attacks on climate science, seem no different to the campaigns against those other great conspiracies linking asbestos and tobacco to cancer. And those conspiracies/controversies more or less died when the cooperate sponcers stopped spending their money.

So are climate sceptics defending the world from a global conspiracy of scientists hell bent on getting their research grants or are they victims of a well financed lobbyists defending the business models of their clients who see fears of global warming as a threat to their future profits?

global warming ... a natural ocurrence...granted people could do more to clean this planet up along with the big companies ..but this started out as a money maker for T.P.T.B. who cried out wolf, a big percentage of the scientist etc who first came out with these statements are now under investigation for taken moneys/bribes from companys/goverments.. its mostly about getting more tax from joe blogs ..very little is ever spoken about planes spraying the atmosphere with chemicals or the waste from big industrial plants,, you dont hear anything now about the gulf of mexico/bp/but its still going on.. the informatiom you get from M.S.M.is to dumb you down..im not saying its all bollocks, there is a problem but not on the scale they would have you believe...

Although the ice caps and glaciers do appear to be melting at an alarming rate !

Having said that the planets climate has fluctuated periodically since long before humans were hunting and gathering along Beach Road and it will continue to do so long after we have expired.

The study indicates far less future global warming will occur than United Nations computer models have predicted, and supports prior studies indicating increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide trap far less heat than alarmists have claimed.

And who authored the study? Someone at Caltech? MIT? Cambridge?

Study co-author Dr. Roy Spencer, a principal research scientist at the University of Alabama in Huntsville and U.S. Science Team Leader for the Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer flying on NASA’s Aqua satellite, reports that real-world data from NASA’s Terra satellite contradict multiple assumptions fed into alarmist computer models.

Oh, Roy Spencer.

You know Roy Spencer, don’t you? He’s an unabashed creationist and a fellow at the Heartland Institute, which is funded by ExxonMobil to promote “free market ideas.” He’s “The Official Climatologist of the Rush Limbaugh Show” and he says he gets his views on science from the bible. And every few years, he issues another paper or book “debuking” the myth of global warming.

Then, inevitably, three things happen: 1) there’s a huge celebration in Wingnuttia; 2) actual scientists examine said study; — and then, 3) they promptly smack down Spencer.

Let me save you some trouble here, wingnuts. You’re going to need to do a little better than a Big Oil-funded flat-earther from the University of Tractor Fixin’ and Bible Learnin’ to override every major scientific society and academy on the planet.

An analyser creates/sells a report based on government funded data and makes a $$ from is, great business model or not?
