    UNEXPLAINED DEATH: Emily Longley.

A 17-year-old New Zealander has died in mystery circumstances in Britain, with police urgently seeking witnesses who noticed any suspicious behaviour.
Emily Longley, who grew up in Auckland, was found dead at a house in Bournemouth in England on Saturday morning (UK time).
Her death came just two days after writing on Facebook that she had a "stalker", telling friends she had been receiving calls from a private number and was "really scared".
"Someone just called me and i was like whos this? and they were like you dont know me but i know everything about you. and i was like how did you get my number and he was like ill tell you when i see you and kept asking me out. so i hung up and they wont stop calling," Emily wrote on Thursday, May 5.
A day later there was a post saying "down and out".
Emily's father, Mark Longley told the New Zealand Herald his daughter apparently died in her sleep but the cause of her death was unknown.
British police were speaking to a 19-year-old man who they saying is "helping" with enquiries.
Detective Inspector Neil Devoto said in a statement: "I am appealing for anyone who witnessed anything suspicious or unusual in the area either this morning or during last night, and anyone who has any information regarding this incident, to contact police urgently."
The coroner has been notified. Emily's family will travel to Britain to try and find out what happened.

Longley's body found in boyfriend's home
    10/05/2011

The body of 17-year-old Emily Longley was discovered in the detached home of her on-off boyfriend Elliot Turner, 19, according to British reports.

The Daily Mail says he and a 17-year-old boy were arrested then released on bail at the weekend.

The two are understood to have spent time with Emily the day before she was found dead in Bournemouth, southern England.

No one had been charged in relation to her death.

British police say they are waiting for toxicology test results before they can confirm what killed Longley.

They have refused to say what caused her death, citing "unexplained circumstances".

Last night a spokesman said the cause of death was still undetermined "subject to toxicology test" after an autopsy. It could take several weeks before results are known.

maybe not a 'mysterious death' - drug and alcohol overdose?

Longley got in with 'wrong crowd'
    4:15 PM Tuesday May 10, 2011

Emily Longley was sent back to Britain seven months ago to begin a new life after she got in with the "wrong crowd" in New Zealand but now the 17-year-old's body has been discovered amid suggestions of a drug and alcohol overdose.

The aspiring model's body was found over the weekend at the detached home of her on-off boyfriend 19-year-old Elliot Turner, the Daily Mail reported today.

Mr Turner and another 17-year-old man have been arrested and bailed without any charges being laid. They reportedly spent time with Miss Longley the day before her death.

British police have suggested she may have taken drugs and played down the role of a stalker after reports Miss Longley complained on Facebook about a man who kept calling her and "knew everything about her". A Dorset police spokesman said the death remained "unexplained" pending toxicology reports.

Miss Longley was born in London and moved to Auckland eight years ago with her family. Her parents have since split up.

Father Mark Longley, managing editor of the Whakatane Beacon, is on his way to England and said he believed his daughter had died in her sleep.

"She was a beautiful girl and full of life. It is so tragic," he added.

Miss Longley's friends in New Zealand have said she "fell in with the wrong crowd" and was involved with drugs. Her parents encouraged her to enrol at a British sixth-form college in the hope it would be a fresh start.

English police investigating the sudden death of Kiwi teen Emily Longley have been able to "piece together" the final moments leading up to her death.
And the issue of Longley's possible drug taking on the night she died is heading their lines of inquiry.
Longley, 17, was found dead a week and a half ago at her boyfriend's house in Bournemouth, in south-west England.
A team of detectives from Dorset Police continues to investigate, with senior investigating officer Inspector Neil Devoto saying police were keen to receive any information about drugs Longley may have taken on the night she died.
"We have spoken to a number of Emily's friends and acquaintances who have helped piece together Emily's movements up until late evening on Friday 6 May," Devoto said.
"While we await the toxicology report, we are pursuing a number of lines of inquiry and I would appeal for anyone who has knowledge of anything that Emily may have taken that evening to come forward.
"I would also like to hear from anyone who has any information which may assist the police investigation establishing how and why Emily died.
"All information will be treated in strictest confidence." Shortly after the discovery of Longley's body, police arrested then released on bail two males, aged 19 and 17. Neither is yet to be formally charged.
Longley was an aspiring model and had previously lived in Auckland.
But she was sent to the other side of the world for a fresh start, away from the temptations of drugs and liquor, shortly after appearing in a New Zealand court.
Local and international media have reported that she was sent to Britain to live with her grandparents amid concerns she was mixing with the "wrong crowd" about two years ago.
Sources close to the girl said she had been a frequent user of ecstasy and been visiting nightclubs for the past two years.
The former Westlake Girls High School student appeared in court twice in two months before leaving New Zealand to live with her grandmother, Zosia.
Legal reasons prevent details about the court appearances from being published.

Emily's last moments: boyfriend posts photos of 'Barbie' just before she died
    Jonathan Marshall
    May 20, 2011 - 6:30AM

The British man arrested over the death of New Zealand teenager Emily Longley is remaining silent, but has posted photos online taken the night she died.
The images surfaced on Facebook as friends say Elliot Vince Turner could never do "anything of this sort".
Longley, 17, known to friends as Barbie, died at her jeweller boyfriend's house in Bournemouth, southwest England, two weeks ago.

Turner, 19, and another man were arrested - then bailed - but have not been charged.
Police are awaiting toxicology results but a drug overdose is believed to be responsible for the Aucklander's death. Friends say Longley was a frequent ecstasy user and underage drinker.
Inquiry head Inspector Neil Devoto said detectives were making progress.

"We have spoken to a number of Emily's friends and acquaintances who have helped piece together Emily's movements up until late evening on Friday 6 May."
While the case has attracted international media coverage, Turner has remained mute over what happened. But he has put pictures on Facebook of him and the aspiring model kissing and drinking wine the night she died.
Turner's friends have said they are there to support him because they know he did nothing wrong.

Sarah Dickinson said Facebook "gossip" was to blame for Turner being linked to the death.
Friend Lloyd Smith said he "wouldn't wish what you're going through on anyone".
It has been revealed that Longley, a former Westlake Girls' High School pupil, was sent to live with her grandmother in 2009 after appearing in a Kiwi court twice in two months.

Family wait in anguish for Emily Longley's body
NEIL REID Last updated 13:16 08/06/2011

Emily Longley's dad has spoken of his anguish at not being able to bury the aspiring Auckland model a month on from her death.

The 17-year-old was found dead on May 7 at her boyfriend's house in Bournemouth, south-west England.

English police are tight-lipped over the cause of her death, but the issue of her possible drug taking on the night she died is heading their lines of inquiry.

Emily had previously lived in Auckland but was sent to the other side of the world for a fresh start.

Emily's father, Mark, has revealed that English authorities were yet to hand over her body to his family.

''We had a memorial service [in England] but no funeral,'' Mr Longley said.

''The police still have her body.''

Mr Longley said he could not say anything more as ''there is a police investigation going on''.

He said the delays were ''frustrating'', but he respected the work being done by police in the UK.

''We are just waiting, really,'' he said.

''I understand that people want an update. But really there is nothing.''

He added that the slow progress had seen him return to New Zealand while other family members remained in the UK.

Police investigating Emily's death have been tight-lipped since revealing on May 19 that they were keen to receive any information about drugs she may have taken on the night she died.

Inspector Neil Devoto, from Dorset police, said: ''While we await the toxicology report, we are pursuing a number of lines of inquiry and I would appeal for anyone who has knowledge of anything that Emily may have taken that evening to come forward.''

LATEST: Police have charged the ex-boyfriend of UK-based Kiwi Emily Longley with her murder.
The 17-year-old was found dead at the home of her on-off boyfriend Elliott Turner in Bournemouth in England in May.
Bournemouth police said Turner, 20, had been charged with murder as well as perverting the course of justice.
Leigh Turner, aged 53, and Anita Turner, aged 50, believed to be Elliott's parents, had also been charged with perverting the course of justice.
All three would appear before Bournemouth magistrates tomorrow (NZT).
Bournemouth police spokesman Detective Inspector Neil Devoto said Longley's family had been informed and that police would not be commenting further ahead of the trial.
Elliott Turner had earlier denied killing Longley.
In an interview with the Sunday Star-Times he said he was disgusted to be a suspect, and that he didn't know how she died.
He denied giving her drugs on the night she died.
He said he loved and missed her. "I can't stop thinking about her."
Emily's father Mark Longley said he was relieved the investigation had come to this point.
"But in terms of dealing with Emily's death it doesn't make it any easier."
Longley said he only heard the news from police two hours ago.
    FOUND DEAD IN BED
The former Westlake Girls student was found dead in Turner's bed on May 7.
Turner and a 17-year-old youth were earlier arrested in connection with her death but released on bail.
The two were understood to have spent time with Longley on the day she died.
Initially it was reported that the aspiring model had a stalker though this angle was ruled out by police as a line of inquiry.
Police also carried out toxicology tests, believing she may have overdosed on drugs and alcohol.
Turner lived with his father Leigh, younger brother Aaron and their mother in the affluent Queen's Park suburb in Bournemouth, south England.
He worked as a jewellery buyer for local store R.E. Porter.
The day after Longley's death he was seen sitting in an ambulance with his head in his hands.
Turner's Facebook profile still showed a picture of the couple together, with Longley holding Turners' face and the pair smiling at each other.
Longley was born in England but emigrated with her family to New Zealand before returning to the UK after falling in with the "wrong crowd" in Auckland.
