Truck Driver left dying as motorists drive round him.

Unbelievable how community spirit has decayed in the UK. And as for the lady that struck him and obviously drove off...

Dying truck driver ignored by motorists on M60

Recovery truck driver Denis Livesley was left dying in the road as other motorists drove round him after he was hit by a car on the M60, an inquest has heard.

Denis Livesley was struck by a vehicle on the M60 Denis Livesley was struck by a vehicle on the M60

Livesley was loading a crashed Volvo on to his vehicle on a motorway when a Volkswagen Golf skidded on ice and struck him.

Drivers in other cars swerved round him as he lay face down on a slip road of the M60 near Sale, Greater Manchester.

The 60-year-old, from Oldham, who once worked as a roadie for Elton John and Sting, was eventually attended to by passers-by including a doctor and then an ambulance crew but was pronounced dead at Trafford General Hospital. The scenario emerged as a jury returned a verdict of unlawful killing at an inquest into Mr Livesley’s death which ocurred in December 2009.

Laura Warmoth who was travelling to work told the Stockport hearing: ‘I witnessed motorists manoeuvring around him and driving off without stopping.’

Coroner John Pollard asked the Crown Prosecution Service to review a police decision to take no action against VW driver Sophie Wilkinson, 23, of Bolton.

Considering the prices some of these cunts charge for recovering a vehicle from a motorway in the uk, I'm not surprised reports advise "nobody seemed to give a fuck"

Is this right??? Cops don't want to take action ??. Has the driver in question not been prosecuted ? : at least for leaving the scene of an accident?? I 'm sure if someone even in the dark on a winter night knocked into a person they could'nt not realise ?

guess the police considered it an accident,
hard to control a car skidding on ice.

Oh I see where you have got that from now.

There is no way in the UK she would not be prosecuted for leaving the scene,no chance, in Thailand yes happens all the time

The article isn't the best written

if a passerby does something wrong they are subject to law suits.

in the us, one could end up in court with an ambulance chasing attorney trying to sue for all of a persons assets for stopping & rendering aid.

    • An anxious woman goes to her doctor. "Doctor," she asks nervously, "can you get pregnant from anal intercourse?"
    • "Certainly," replies the doctor, "Where do you think lawyers come from?"
