    Star Wars Ewok 'touched himself'

    A TEARFUL teenager told how a dwarf actor who played a Star Wars Ewok fondled himself next to her on a train.

    The girl, 17 at the time, said Nicholas Read touched himself under a bowler-style juggler's hat that he rested on his lap.

    Read - one of the furry warriors in Return of the Jedi and a goblin in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone - carried on for 30 minutes after the 7.55pm train left London St Pancras.

    The girl was trapped against the window and she did not say anything, fearing he would touch her.

    She reported him when she reached Leicester. Read, 40, of Cheadle, Stockport, was arrested at Sheffield. Asked why he had not put his hat in the luggage rack, he said he could not reach.

    He was convicted at Leicester Crown Court of indecent exposure. He will be sentenced next month - and was told he could face "a short" jail term or suspended sentence.
