    Che Guevera

Just thought you would like to know that today, in 1967, leftist murderer Che Guevera was executed in Bolivia. The world became just a little bit freer and safer that day.

Yes, I always feel a bit sick when I see some clueless kid wearing the famous image of Che on a t-shirt. The types who promote this commie pig as a hero are the least intelligent section of humanity. Even some of the better informed Cubans will admit that Che was not quite as he is portrayed in movies and in the propaganda pumped out by the Castro regime. I hope hell has Mojitos.

He's an icon to those that love him, and its a tourist thing to wear his shirts. Just like Uncle Ho's shirts in Saigon. wearing it outside the kingdom, you're likely to get a trip to the dentist for a new set of gnashers.

heres -from hisdbook --Motorcycle Diaries by Ernesto "Che" Guevara

''the blacks, those magnificent examples of the African race who have conserved their racial purity by a lack of affinity with washing, have seen their patch invaded by a different kind of slave: The Portugese.... the black is indolent and fanciful, he spends his money on frivolity and drink; the European comes from a tradition of working and saving which follows him to this corner of America and drives him to get ahead."

Che philosophizing on the rule of law: "To send men to the firing squad, judicial proof is unnecessary. These procedures are an archaic bourgeois detail. This is a revolution! And a revolutionary must become a cold killing machine motivated by pure hate."

Che lamenting the outcome of the Cuban Missile Crisis: "If the missiles had remained, we would have used them against the very heart of America including New York. We must never establish peaceful coexistence. In this struggle to the death between two systems we must gain the ultimate victory. We must walk the path of liberation even if it costs millions of atomic victims."

Che on his commitment to his cause: "In fact, if Christ himself stood in my way, I, like Nietzsche, would not hesitate to squish him like a worm."

He has become the marketable face of defiance. I think on a per capita basis Thailand must be one of the biggest markets in the world for Che' regalia- I find it quite amusing to see traditional Lao/Thai woven T shirts with his iconic face on them. Those that come to know Thailand a bit might suspect, like me, that this is more than a coincidence.

Of those that buy a Che' T shirt, how many know he was from a comfortably well off Argentinian family and was a doctor. He used to play Fly half for the Uni of Buenos Aires rugby team too. Certainly, coming from Sth America, he had plenty of grist for his 'revolutionary ideology' mill. But his answers were, if anything, worse than the problem.

I do recommend 'The Motorcycle Diaries' as a very good movie though.

At the risk of being Red Baited by the unwashed masses of the far right , I would suggest to you the "Che" as well as "Uncle Ho" represented men of the people and in a time and place were heroes to the common man of their countries. Each were unique but shared the brunt of USA foreign , created, intervention based on lies. The

I always find it remarkable that history concentrates so much on Hitler and the Jews when Stalin killed far more Ukrainians in just one winter. Nice people these Communists.

He did leave at least one good thing behind.
In June 2009 his granddaughter Lydia Guevara, 24, posed half-naked for a PETA campaign in combat trousers with bandoliers of carrots covering her breasts. And she made sure to sport the iconic red beret so associated with her famous grandfather. The campaign was shot in New York and launched in Argentina. Poetic justice.

Not to split hairs here but that sounds like an executation. The Bolivian Army were not going to put him on trial or anything...

Communism in ideology seems to work. However, it has been proven over the decades that it fails in practice. Yeltsin and his staff realized this and allowed the wall to be torn down. China and Vietnam have altered their governments, to allow individual citizens business ownership and other whatnots. Cuba is now doing the same thing. The only place that still practices pure communism is what? North Korea??? Psychologically, a full bowl of rice does not make a person happy - this is why communism will always fail.

It's the pose. The outstretched arms are flexing her muscles. Note the delightful breast pushing out. All natural. How about this one? I reckon if I found her naked in my bed, I wouldn't run from the room screaming, ladyboy, ladyboy.

    And for some more interesting sex trivia, back in 2008, the Sun (a major reliable source when it comes to intrusive obnoxious gossip about celebrities personal lives) reported as follows;
British comic Russell Brand seduced Che Guevara's granddaughter Lydia and took her back to his New York hotel suite. The British comic - known for his womanising ways - took the legendary revolutionary's descendant Lydia to his hotel room at New York's Four Seasons hotel last week. The star impressed the socialite with his knowledge of historical figures. (And not his collection of action figures?)A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Russell is leading an amazing life in America at the moment. Girls are throwing themselves at him. He is in his element, making the most of all the attention. "He happened to meet Lydia when he was out for dinner. They hit it off and she went back to Russell's hotel suite. He impressed her with his musings about Alexander the Great and other powerful leaders (wtf? "powerful leaders"?? Isn't this right about when someone is supposed to say, No Homo?) he has been reading about on his travels."

Russell Brand is known for the candid photo of him, naked on a hotel balcony, that showed a micro penis and a bad need for a trim downstairs. I can understand why he would need to rely on his talking skills. (After seeing that photo, I felt adequate, although not well endowed as per Dutch specifications.)

communism has killed millions but not nearly as much as capitalism or religion. Both are amongst the trade marks of american conservatives, of which we happen to have a lot in these forums.

most intellectuals in the world could be called leftists and untill the 70's many were communists or tended that way ( so far for intelligence ). The fact that communism did not make it as a ideology has more to do with the way it was implemented than it's core idea's. Western europe ( america much less so) have been formed under the pressure of communism. Otherwise many of you would still be treated like animals. No labour rights, no nothing in that sense. You should thank communism that you have so much rights and benefits and can retire in thailand and dont have to beg on the streets.

Generally conservatives have a very low knowledge about the world and its history and i always call them the modern cave men lol. Get your facts strait, communism is not a bad word just like capitalism isn't. The 2 together can make a better society, in many parts of western europe this has been evolving to some degree in the last 100 years or so.

Che is a legendary figure, for reasons that are more romanthic than rational. You might call him a murderer, but as a conservative you should look at your own leaders who kill millions and you seem to enjoy it. I would say some of you have no right to talk about these things. You love guns and bombing little childeren 1000's of miles from home .........lol

Sabang, most ( almost all) significant socialist have been people who actually were not poor or from the working class. The fact that che wasn't either should not surprise anybody. Though many people indeed know little about everything and that includes che, who is at best a symbol or sometimes just a immage on a t-shirt

The only place that I can think of where anything like communism has worked is in the kibbutz movement in Israel; and I am not sure any of them would associate them selves with communism.

Communism's great failing is its reliance of revolutions, which are always taken over and betrayed by sociopaths, the narcissistic and demigods. Its insistence of absolute discipline and obedience just speeds up the betrayal.

Che fell in to the trap of becoming the monster he was fighting and died an evil man; fortunately he died before destroying his reputation and has become more useful in death than he ever was in life.

It's nice to see some thoughtful dialog ranging in this thread from "communism to katoys". considerably off point but certainly interesting. The breast beating, no pun intended, of the God backed right is always, the means justify the ends. "Kill the all, as they disagree with us" is their mantle of justification for genocide. Communism in it's purest state is what Jesus preached. As with the communes of Israel. Frequently, that is substituted for Marxism, Leninism and Maoism. All had noble ambitions that fell flat with failures. Capitalism is my choice and democracy my creed but that too is less than perfect for all societies in all times. Back to Che. His legend grows into cult status as communism fades into the past. Now, obama, open Cuba for us all.

    The Che image on clothing

    Che dog t-shirts, infants bodysuits, t-shirts, men's boxers, women's thongs . . .

    .... ....

On the subject of communism and icons – here’s something on Soviet underwear. Dr Ola Gurova has been studying underwear in the erstwhile USSR.

In the 1920s, Soviet magazines touted a “regime of cleanliness” for the proletariat. “Underwear,” explains Gurova, “was a compulsory part of that regime.” A goal was established: everyone should have at least two sets, and should change sets at least once every 7-10 days. Mass production was cranked up, underclothing the populace in officially healthy, comfortable, hygienic long johns, boxers, undershirts and bras. Gurova’s research shows that most of these items were “spacious”, and that “there was no big difference in design between male and female underclothes”.

    Che was a bloodthirsty narcissist.

Very interesting article in the latest Foreign Affairs about Vasily Grossman and his "Life and Fate." Disaster always results when ideology is permitted to supersede humanity:
The Russian Masterpiece You've Never Heard of - By Leon Aron | Foreign Policy
There was no doctrine, Grossman believed, to which this freedom and dignity could be sacrificed:

"I saw the unflinching force of the idea of public good, born in my country. I saw it first in the universal collectivization. I saw it in [the Great Purge of] 1937. I saw how, in the name of an ideal as beautiful and humane as that of Christianity, people were annihilated. I have seen villages dying of starvation; I have seen peasant children dying in Siberian snow; I have seen trains carrying to Siberia hundreds and thousands of men and women from Moscow and Leningrad, from all the cities of Russia -- men and women declared enemies of the great and bright idea of public good. This idea was beautiful and great, and it has mercilessly killed some, disfigured the lives of others; it has torn wives from husbands and children from fathers."

It was in the ruthless casualness with which individual freedom was sacrificed to the state's ideology that Grossman found the key parallel between Stalin's Soviet Union and Hitler's Germany, which he juxtaposes throughout the book.
