    453-gram limit on U.S.-bound mail

    By MINORU MATSUTANI
    Staff writer
Japan Post Services Co. said it will stop accepting airmail packages bound for the United States weighing 453 grams (1 pound) or more starting Wednesday because airlines will stop such delivery at the request of U.S. aviation authorities as part of antiterrorism measures.

The postal services arm of Japan Post Holdings Co. handles 16 million letters and packages by air and sea to the U.S. annually, and "15 percent of that will be affected," a Japan Post spokesman said. That means about 200,000 packages a month will be affected.

The company said it will accept packages from senders that use a service enabling them to pay after delivery instead of beforehand, a service designated for regular customers, even if a package weighs 453 grams or more. The company will notify the public of any changes in the situation, the spokesman said.

The Transportation Security Administration of the U.S. has informed air carriers of the 453-gram rule, and carriers notified Japan Post Services, the spokesman said. The rule applies not only to packages from Japan but from other countries.

Packages containing explosives were found in Britain and Dubai on two cargo planes from Yemen bound for the U.S. in late October. The TSA heightened its aviation alert level since then.

The Japanese units of Fedex Corp., United Parcel Service of America Inc. and DHL International GmbH said they have no similar plans as Japan Post's. But DHL "will cooperate with the United States and other countries as they have raised (the) security level," spokeswoman Maho Takahashi said.

Overseas Courier Service Ltd. said it stopped accepting packages Friday to be delivered to the U.S., Latin America, Europe and Africa containing ink cartridges or toner cartridges weighing more than 450 grams.

I could only find this reference to the new limit on US inbound mail. I just came from the post office and this limit is being enforced in Thailand. The post office said this was in effect till December 8th. No idea why only till the 8th.

Strangely, not much news on this new regulation.

The purpose of terrorism is to obstruct, disrupt and weaken a militarily superior opponent. There are some people who are happy about these new regulations and the numerous other burdens which have been imposed on law abiding citizens, most of the happiest are living in caves in Afghanistan.

Sadly our Government is either too stupid to realize this or is happy for any excuse to eliminate freedoms it has found to be a nuisance.

That's OK, you can still get a fair amount of anthrax in a package weighing a pound.

The whole US system and thought process towards any sort of "terrorism" is so predictable. I remember when the cargo scare happened I thought to myself "great, what changes are in store now?".

Have you any idea how difficult life is in Afghanistan?

    They've never been happy.

The only Afghanis who have any sort of peaceful happy life are the animists in Kafiristan. Mainly cos they dont follow the miserable doctrines of Islam.

US bans incoming parcels via passenger plane - Cyprus Mail

US bans incoming parcels via passenger plane
    By Patrick Dewhurst
    Published on November 18, 2010

The United states has banned passenger airlines from importing all parcels over 450 grams, after the discovery of two mail bombs sent to the states from Yemen.
The Cyprus post office confirmed the stoppage was in effect since yesterday, while early reports indicate the US government's Transport Security Administration (TSA) directive will be in effect for 30 days, covering the peak Christmas mail rush.

The ban has already cost one Paphos based businessman hundreds of Euros in lost business. OST Cosmetics manager Neil Hart normally exports between five and ten packages to the US daily, each worth up to €200, but he has sent none since Tuesday.

TSA Secretary Janet Napolitano said on November 8: "Following the thwarted terrorist plot last week to conceal and ship explosive devices on board aircraft bound for the U.S., the (TSA) administration took a number of immediate steps to increase security by tightening existing measures related to cargo bound for the United States."

Napolitano said this ban will also apply to certain inbound international air cargo shipments.

^^ Looks like a 30 day ban. That should solve all the terrorism related cargo

Blinding idea, why didn't I think of it!

After the shoe bomber, shoes became suspicious items and people who wear them became potential terrorists. After the bottled liquids attempt, liquids became suspicious items. After the crotch bomber, the supremely intelligent are devoted to figuring a way to have our crotches fly separately and join up with us later.

Isn't it obvious? - After the US-bound mail bomber, mail should rightly be restricted, but it like plane passengers cannot be done away with, so 2nd best is to cap it at 1lb and hope that misunderstanders of Islam will not google to find an explosive that can bring a plane down from the inside of a cigarette pack.

And the latest misunderstander that Islam is a religion of peace, has targeted a Christmas tree, which leaves everyone guessing. Will they ban Christmas, Christmas trees, Christmas crowds...?

Yet the Zionist controlled media will continue to rush around scratching their heads in wonder as to what all of these incidents and much more could possibly have in common.

We are playing catchup, and you can never win when your resources are devoted to catching up.

Islam must be confronted, and eradicated.

Fake bomb aboard German passenger jet 'was made by U.S. firm to test airport security'

    By Daily Mail Reporter
Last updated at 10:12 PM on 19th November 2010
A German government minister has today revealed that a fake bomb found on an Air Berlin flight in Namibia was manufactured in the U.S. to test airport security.

It was not yet clear who had planted 'test suitcase', said German interior minister Thomas de Maziere, but the one fact they had established was that the device had been manufactured by a U.S. company that specialises in alarm systems.

At no time were passengers' lives in danger.
Mr de Maziere said: 'This company is a manufacturer of alarm and detection systems and these real test suitcases are built to test security measures.'
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) confirmed today that it was working with the German and Namibian authorities 'to determine the origin of the device and the reason it was being transported on the plane'.

The suitcase, which contained batteries connected to a detonator and a ticking clock, was intercepted by authorities at Windhoek airport on Wednesday night and sparked an international terror alert.
