US president Barack Obama is to visit Louisana in the next 48 hours to assess the impact of a huge oil slick in the Gulf of Mexico.

British oil company BP is facing growing criticism for its response to the disaster and its chief executive is flying to the scene to personally oversee the emergency cleanup operation.
Efforts to plug the leaking undersea oil pipe have so far failed - and experts warn it could be months before it is stopped.
High seas are forecast for Monday, raising fears that oil could be pushed deep into the wetlands of southeastern Louisiana and could reach three other states - Mississippi, Alabama and Florida - by Tuesday.
BP spokesman Andrew Gowers says the company is doing all it can to help contain and cleanup the slick.
"We are 150 per cent focused on fighting it below the sea, by stopping the well that's leaking," he said.
"We're concentrated in fighting it in the offshore, containing and preventing the slick from spreading and we're focused on preventing it from reaching the shore and as it does reach the shore, minimising and cleaning up the damage."
Many are saying that Washington has been too slow to respond to the oil spill.
Tracy Coons is the head of a Louisiana conservation group and she says it is extremely concerned about the impact the oil might have.
"It's a wide open marshy estuary is what it is," she said.
"It's just riddled with bayous and bays and lakes and it's just so open that if this oil starts coming in towards our estuary, it's going to be almost impossible to control it, to stop it."

The great thing about being a black President is that you can go for a swim in oil and when you come out, no one can tell the difference.

And those redneck States hit by the spill can take a swim and look like Obama. Geeezz, I think they will look a lot better with a bit of black/oil coloring.
