Tycoon sues 'Pretty Woman' prostitute for £60,000
A millionaire property tycoon who attempted to "save" a high class escort is suing her for more than £60,000 after she went back to selling sex.
In 'Pretty Woman', Roberts plays a high class prostitute who falls in love with her client, played by Gere. He persuades her to give up her life of vice. Robert Brot hoped to copy the theme of the Julia Roberts and Richard Gere film, Pretty Woman, by helping Lindsey DeLeon give up her sordid trade.
He offered to marry the 26-year-old mother of two who had turned to escort work and stripping to make ends meet.
Mr Brot, 57, lavished more than $100,000 (£60,000) on Miss DeLeon in an attempt to help her quit a life of vice.
But according to papers filed in Manhattan Supreme Court there was no happy Hollywood ending as Miss DeLeon continued to work as an escort.
In legal papers Mr Brot claims Miss DeLeon conned him out of the money by saying she wanted to give up working as an escort. Mr Brot paid for her to leave New York and return to her home in Oklahoma where he believed she was trying to find a job.
However, he discovered she was still advertising her services on websites with the description: "Sweet Southern Redhead with Natural DDD's."
The website goes on to say of Mis DeLeon: "I am a young, vivacious, sweet redhead with a very naughty side."
Mr Brot had met Miss DeLeon on an online dating site and become smitten with her.
According to court documents he knew she was in debt and struggling to bring up her two young children.
Mr Brot, who runs a successful property company in New York, arranged for the escort to move in with him and pay for her to train as an estate agent on the understanding she would give up selling her body.
Miss DeLeon also agreed to pay back Mr Brot when she was established in a new career, according to the lawsuit.
After moving back to Tulsa, Oklahoma, she got a job as a stripper and began advertising herself on adult websites. Mr Brot's lawyer Andrew Miltenberg said: "He's got a really big heart, and he intended to help, rescue her, he fell in love with a woman, and he thought he was helping her turn her life around."
Miss DeLeon has refused to comment.
