    Haiti criticizes US missionaries

US missionaries 'knew they were doing wrong' in Haiti

The missionaries say they did not know they were doing anything wrong

Haiti's prime minister has criticised 10 US missionaries who were arrested as they tried to take 33 Haitian children out of the earthquake-hit country.

Max Bellerive told the Associated Press news agency that they "knew what they were doing was wrong".

He said some of the children had parents who were alive, and that the government was trying to locate them.

Mr Bellerive added that his country was open to having the Americans tried in the United States.

He said a judicial system needed to determine whether the five men and five women from an Idaho-based Christian group were acting in good faith - as they have claimed - or were child traffickers.

A Haitian judge had been expected to decide on Monday whether the Americans had a case to answer, but the matter was postponed for 24 hours because of a lack of interpreters for the Americans.

The 10 have been held since Friday when they tried to enter the Dominican Republic with the children.

They insist the children have no living parents and were being taken to an orphanage in the Dominican Republic.

They say they were unaware they had done anything wrong and believed they had been given the right paperwork to take the children out of the country.

They should all be systematically rounded-up and exterminated. The world would be a much better place.

Just looked at the photo again. Perhaps 'loathe' is not strong enough of a word. They certainly are a self-righteous looking bunch of middle-American trailer trash. Clearly, empowered by God to go forth and sort out the world.

Plus, two of them failed to wear their baseball caps for the photo op, which could result in additional penalties if they are tried in the US.

All ten charged with kidnapping today. Next 90 days will be in a Haitian jail contemplating "God's will" as they await trial. USG has said, "It's an internal Haitian matter". Enjoy......

    Cool

Ever figured out what happens with the same missionaries living in Chiangrai? Beautiful large houses, four wheel drive SUV's. "Teaching" (converting to Christianity) all those poor hill tribe girls, yes that's right no hill tribe boys, after removing them from the villages creating a serious imbalance in the ratio boy / girl. Almost the same happens here on our own doorstep. Those Christians are a menace with a hidden agenda.

Been watching a piece on TV bout this. Seems there is mounting evidence the leader of the group was far from some starry eyed religious person just trying to do the right thing. Her intentions appear to be how to make some money via charging for adoption of the kids. Her web of lies is beginning to unravel as the truth comes out. Hope the Haitians lock her up and throw away the key.

^Yep. I just read another article detailing her questionable business dealings in the US, lawsuits against her, bank seizure of her house, etc. Looking to make some money off of misery, I reckon. And dragging along the other nine sheep with her.

America has millions of these religious schizophrenics. They are living proof that stupidity aggravates arrogance exponentially. Absolute losers every one of them. Haiti's Prime Minister actually makes an intelligent statement here.

The only missionarys I ever talked to were a chinese and a Korean mormon female team that came to my house in Calif, the last few years I was there, but could never get in either ones knickers, no matter how I tried.

Interesting. I've never seen a girl Mormon missionary team - all the ones I've seen have been boys. Have quite a few of them cruising the Philippines.

Just looked it up. Guess I just haven't seen 'em, as there appear to be a slew of girls.

I lived in a small town in N. Calif. and was raising my daughter and she was about 3 years old then, and the girls used to come by and mainly visit and fool with my kid,, we were just kind of friends as they knew I was atheist and intended to stay that way.

Them Baptists and Jehovah's that piss me off.

^Actually, I've never had a team come to my house. Might be the dogs. I've just seen them wandering the streets, generally in the poorer areas of town. I don't recall seeing any down here in Batangas, only in Manila when I used to live there.
