RANDOM thugs attack every 30 seconds.

These guys must be very busy. Some random thugs apparantly attack a stranger in Britain every 30 seconds.
Seems England is going down the shitter very quickly these days.

Random attack by thugs every 30 seconds as 'stranger assaults' soar in Binge Britain

By James Slack

Someone is attacked by a complete stranger every 30 seconds in Binge Britain, figures revealed last night.
When Labour came to power, only a third of violent crimes were carried out by an attacker the victim did not know.
That has now jumped to half as random violence - fuelled by alcohol and round the clock opening - has become commonplace.

Broken Britain: Random attacks like muggings happen every 30 seconds (picture posed by models)

There were 1,057,000 violent attacks by strangers last year - the equivalent of 2,895 a day or 120 every hour.
Opposition MPs said it was the latest proof the Government's relaxation of licensing laws had failed.
Some 21 per cent of the assaults took place in pubs and a further 34 per cent in the street as town centres became increasingly scarred by alcohol-fuelled violence.
Many of the attacks were carried out by violent women 'ladettes'.

Last month, the Daily Mail revealed that the Government's own figures show the number of women being convicted for murders, vicious assaults and other attacks has rocketed by 81 per cent since 1998.
They are now being convicted at a rate of more than 200 every week.

The true picture of street violence could be even worse. Some experts believe that fewer than a half of such crimes are reported to police.
Shadow Home Secretary, Chris Grayling said last night: 'The more we learn about the reality that lies behind the headline crime figures, the clearer it becomes that we have a growing problem of violence and disorder on our streets.
'Ministers seem to be in a state of denial about it. I think Britain's binge-drinking culture and the changes to our licensing rules are a big reason for the problem.
'It's time we scrapped the rules and gave local communities much greater powers to restrict the number of licensed premises and reduce late-night opening --and stop supermarkets selling drink below cost price.'
The Home Office said: 'We have put record numbers of police on the streets and are working to reduce violent crime of all kinds. Alcohol-related violent crime has fallen by a third in the last 12 years. We are committed to tackling irresponsible practices and promotions which encourage binge drinking, and individuals who break the law whilst drunk.'
The scale of stranger violence emerged in tables released by the Home Office last week.

They show that in 1996, only 32 per cent of victims of violence said their attacker had been a stranger.

They were far more likely to be friends, acquaintances or a husband or partner.
The figure rose to 34 per cent in 1998, and had reached 50 per cent by 2008/09. It is believed to be the first time half of all violence can be blamed on a stranger.
The statistics, based on the British Crime Survey, also show that the proportion of all violent offences committed on the street was higher last year than at any other point in the past decade.

Meanwhile the detection rate for violent crime is at its lowest since records began. The current figure of 47 per cent compares to 77 per cent as recently as 1996.
The stranger violence figures are the latest evidence of the links between crime and 24-hour drinking.
On Saturday, the Daily Mail revealed that there are an estimated 166,000 violent attacks a year in NHS hospitals turned into 'war zones' by drunks.

Attacks on staff and patients take place at all hours of the day.
Karen Jennings of the Unison union, said: 'There is no doubt that the binge-drinking culture and more round-the-clock drinking has led to an increase in the number of attacks on staff.
In an interview last week, Prime Minister Gordon Brown himself admitted: 'I myself have always had doubts about 24-hour licensing, I will be honest with you'.
The Government's own crime and justice adviser has warned that Britain is in danger of becoming a 'walk on by' society over street violence.
In a report ordered by Downing Street, Louise Casey said people were terrified they would either be attacked themselves or face arrest if they intervened.
She said the change in attitudes --blamed on a loss of trust in the police --could allow crime to 'strangle whole neighbourhoods'.
The report last year warned: 'There was a strong view from members of the public that they would no longer intervene if they saw a crime taking place, for fear they would either be attacked by the perpetrators or be arrested themselves.
'This may be caused by wider factors, but it is symptomatic of reduced public confidence in the crime-fighting agencies, leading to a greater reluctance by law-abiding members of the public to play their part in tackling crime.'

There should be harsher penalties with a separate law for attacking hospital staff while they are on duty, same way there are with police officers.

you don't need a seperate law, the ones in place are fine

the penalties meted out reflect the seriousness of the crime

The poms have been letting immigrants into their country for so long that they have total lost control over their country and their people. When the name Mohd is the most popular name in your home country you must know that your future generations are going to be foked.

Yeh a spell in the military sure wouldnt do them any harm

Thats mostly to do with how popular Mohammed is as a name amongst Muslims more than anything. The proportion of Muslim kids born named Mohammed is higher than English kids called Jack.

Something like 90% of Muslim boys born get named Mohammed.

Perhaps now they understand what half the world's population is sensing after 3 centuries of imperial occupation.

Luckily Australia hasn't had a history of immigration or it might be in the same pickle.

No history of immigration?

How did they get from 0 white men to 20 plus million in 200 years?

In 2006, 22% of Australians were born overseas. In 2009, 10.7% of Britains born overseas.

Maybe the Australians have more space so they don't shit each other so much.
