    Racism In South Africa

"An attorney for a white South African man says his client was rightfully granted refugee status in Canada because he was the victim of racial violence and discrimination in his homeland.

Russell Kaplan, who represented Brandon Huntley, 31, in the asylum case, responded Wednesday to a statement from South Africa's ruling party, which has denounced Canada's decision to grant Huntley refugee status, calling it "racist."

"The African National Congress (ANC) views the granting by Canada of a refugee status to South African citizen Brandon Huntley on the grounds that Africans would 'persecute' him as racist," the group said in a statement Tuesday. "We find the claim by Huntley to have been attacked seven times by Africans due his skin colour -- without any police intervention -- sensational and alarming. Canada's reasoning for granting Huntley a refugee status can only serve to perpetuate racism."

Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.

It is racism - absolutely. If apartheid was racism (white-black), this is reverse-racism (black-white).

The white folks most often live in fear of their lives, with robberies, rape, murder etc being considered 'normal'

Now that this precedent is in place, I hope that more governments will follow suit.

Seems there are many counties in Africa where the white minority has been subject to racism. Confiscation of farms owned by whites and given to blacks is a practice which can only be classified as racist.

That's why I came to live in Thailand. I did live in London but got sick of the racism towards me, may I point out I am white. I descided that it would be better that if I was going to be discriminated against then might as well be in a foreign country, not my own.
I lived across the road from a doctors surgery that was run by Indians, not American Indians I hasten to add. As it was convienient I descided to register there as was told that I couldn't because they were full. It then came to my attention that in two years I had never seen one white person go in there so I started to take more notice, and, true enough all Asian, without exeption!

It is really bad living here these days as a white South African, you have to watch your every move, step and word.... or you're a racist!! Then comes apartheid in... how many years hasn't this been put behind (or wished it was) but still everything evolves around it. Don't know how many years we still have to listen to this bullshit! The country has gone down, way down. But that is right yea, blame it on apartheid!!! (Sarcastic) Give them schools, books, housing and universities and just watch how long before it end up in flames!!!
