US journalists released from North Korea head home

Good job Bill, don't let those girls forget they owe you.
US journalists released from North Korea: Bill Clinton did not issue apology

Bill Clinton, the former US president, offered no apology for the conduct of two American journalists freed by North Korea following his humanitarian mission, a senior US official has said.

"The answer is no," the official said when asked about reports by North Korea's official media that Mr Clinton had apologised.
Earlier, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said that North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il agreed to pardon the reporters after the former president "expressed words of sincere apology" for their "hostile acts."

Television journalists Laura Ling and Euna Lee, who are en route to Los Angeles with Mr Clinton, were reported to be in "very good health" after their five-month ordeal.
Ling, 32, and Lee, 36, were arrested in March while reporting near North Korea's border with China and sentenced in June to 12 years of hard labour for an illegal border crossing and an unspecified "grave crime."
Earlier on Tuesday, the White House clamped a tight news blackout on Bill Clinton's North Korean mercy mission, fearing an ill-judged word could derail his rescue of the two jailed journalists.
White House aides parried all questions on the administration's role in the former president's knife-edge initiative, insisting it was a private trip not linked to soaring nuclear tensions between Pyongyang and the outside world.
Top spokesman Robert Gibbs would only say that reports by the North Korean official media saying Mr Clinton carried a personal message from President Barack Obama to the reclusive Kim Jong-Il were not true.
Mr Obama called the families of the freed journalists to express his relief that their ordeal was over. The group are expected to land in Los Angeles later today.
It remained unclear whether the trip by Mr Clinton, who once mulled visiting the Stalinist state as president, may offer the side benefit of lowering US nuclear tensions with North Korea.
But his mission will likely provide top Obama administration officials with a rare first-hand account of the mindset and health of the ailing North Korean supremo.
Official North Korean television pictures showed Mr Clinton side-by-side with Kim, 67, who has been the subject of intense speculation after he suffered what was believed to be a stroke last year.

In this case he was likely a surrogate.

We can be quite sure even though the State Department and Obama are saying Bill's visit is a private initiative, the deal was done before he ever left to bring the ladies home.

    " Free blow-jobs..." ?

I doubt, unlike yourself Dug, Mr Clinton has ever had to pay for a blow-job.

You see...personable, intelligent, powerful, well- connected men can often get sex, oral or otherwise- with attractive woman without having to pay (OR move to a 3rd world country.)

Often, other men become quite jealous and publicly, pitifully announce their pettiness by trying to detract from the subject's world renown respectablity and success.

new evidence is unveiling that RFK had a tumble with Norma Jean Baker (Marilyn Monroe). Some like it Hot was one of her best films. I always thought she was murdered--she knew too much about the Kennedys. Clinton was not the first womanizer to ever occupy the White House.

Exactly....and I want to know what that deal is. They claim he "negotiated" a deal. That means something must have been given in return. How much money did they give that little runt? Bill was probably carrying 100 million with him. Obama is spending our money like crazy just so he looks good.

I'm sick of Clinton getting credit for stuff when it's not deserved. He even claims it himself. My favorite was when he said his administration stopped the planned LAX bombing years ago. LOL...it was thwarted by a border agent in Washington State that racially profiled a "suspicious Arab".

You are good for a laugh.

I don't know about compensation but apparently he was picked by the Koreans from four candidates they were given.
The deal was done (the release) before he took off.
You're right, he was just the gopher.
