Religion of peace at it again

Two men have been charged with attempted murder after a so-called 'honour attack' over an illicit love affair.

Victim was attacked by masked gang in this alleyway near his home in Leytonstone

Their alleged victim, a 24-year-old man, is critically ill in hospital after a gang poured sulphuric acid down his throat and stabbed him.
He is blind, his tongue has been destroyed and he suffered 90% burns.
Police have warned his lover, a young, married British Muslim woman, that she is at risk of being murdered.
The couple both live in the Asian community of East London.
Scotland Yard has given her an Osman warning, a formal alert that she is in grave danger of being killed.
But it is understood she has told police she is not aware of any threat. Officers are assessing how best to protect her.

Beer cans stand in victim's window

The man said he was attacked by a masked gang near his home in Leytonstone in the early hours of July 2.
A witness, who was too scared to give her name, told Sky News: "I saw four men lashing out and kicking him on the ground.
"I shouted and they ran off, then one went back and started on him again.
"The poor man got up and ran straight into a tree, then staggered back to his house, tugging at his burning clothes and banging on doors shouting for water."
Emergency services found the man wandering around in agony, unable to speak coherently. Firemen eventually hosed him down in the street.
Later it was discovered he had been stabbed twice in the back, hit with bricks and had sulphuric acid thrown over him and forced down his throat.
Neighbour Paulette Billings said: "I was woken by a man running up and down the street shouting and banging on doors.

    Attack happened in Leytonstone

"I didn't realise what a terrible thing had happened until the next day."
The man had recently moved into a bedsit in Mayville Road but his fellow residents said they did not even know his name.
His room has been padlocked and empty beer cans stand on his windowsill.
Community leader Imtiaz Qadir, of the Active Change Foundation, said: "Honour crime happens a lot in our community, especially the Pakistani community, but we do try to educate the people.
"It's a cultural thing that's come from back home. The elderly people have found it hard to adjust to society in England."
The man was on life support in hospital in Essex where his condition is thought to have worsened slightly.
Police have arrested seven young men since the attack.
The two charged with attempted murder are remanded in custody to appear before the Old Bailey on September 30.

In a perfect world the culprits would have the same thing done to them by the police.

cowardly waffle and bluster from a "community leader" too ineffectual speak his mind in case he gets attacked himself by the filthy scum and their brothers who did this
and if english society is so hard to adjust to for some people then what is it exactly that is keeping them there.

'The elderly people have found it hard to adjust to society in England'.

But these murderers were not elderly were they? The elderly have had little trouble adjusting as many Pakistani's of that age never made the attempt. They mostly ( in my town at least)live in their own communities surrounded by other Pakistanis, Pakistani shops mosques, Banks and Schools, so only have to adjust to the weather and filling in benefit forms.
I wish the press would stop referring to these murders as honor killings, it's murder usually done in the most barbaric of ways too.

Not really as they get social housing, citizenship, free education and health care, social security, the right to vote, buy land and houses and are given the same protection and rights as the natives. Even if you have been here 40 years you are still referred to as the 'alien' and about the only right you have is the right to leave. It was benefit forms of course, a bit naughty to change an original post.

The natives ought to get together and start burning Paki children in the streets until they hand over the dogs that committed this heinous crime.

Why does the UK keep such an open door immigration policy towards these people? It makes absolutely no sense.

    Totally agree...very poor show.

On a serious point I am in no way racist...I have always all my life had friends of different colours and creeds and love the diversity that it has brought into my life..even learnt some arabic from my Pakistani mates in the UK..They are also totally against racism...

It is simple. You lot need to vote against immigration and the parties that support it. Very simple. Get them gone.

Are you all suggesting that that kind of thing does not happen between English men?

Are there no gratuitous bashings by young English men?

Are there no heinous crimes committed by English men?

Very true. These "peaceful" Muslims should declare Jihad on their more militant brothers if they want to be a part of their new homeland and if they do not they can all go back to where they came from and spend a few hundred more years living just out of the dark ages while we leave them behind. We should have nothing to do with them if they or their religion condones the murder of innocent people. Nothing...cut all ties with them. If they don't respect the rights and freedoms they have in their new homes they should move back to where they had very few.

I heard a Muslim cleric a few days ago on TV say he believed the killing of innocent people was against Islam, but he also believed and supported their right to Jihad. A coward walking into a crowd of people and blowing himself up isn't warfare; it isn't Jihad. If they want war then find it on a battlefield with other warriors and not on the streets with women and children.

These honor killings have more to do with local beliefs rather than Islam, don't they? I mean things like this also happen in some Indian communities that aren't Moslem, don't they?
