| Who knows? Neither you nor I nor anybody else should take it upon themselves the power to decide whether somebody else's life is worthwhile or not. No doubt the logic for ending what Hitler called "Life unworthy of life" when referring to the seriously disabled is impeccable, it's the ethics that stink. |

| ^You expect quite a lot from us Europeans, to be shepherds for all humanity, considering you're that anti-Euro. But it's a very typical stance of a 3rd world brain you've adopted RS, get lots for free, moan if it isn't to your taste and do at no point take responsability for your own sake. But I'll say it again, it's futile to point out so-called basic human rights of freedom and integrity over your own body if you aren't able to feed your own offspring and neither is the society you live in. And unfortunately Human rights organisations mostly aren't helping, because they can't even imagine that working for 2USD without social care might be better than being unemployed. And again, there are laws in Euro in case someone who is HIV+ engages in unprotected sex. Try to enforce that in a country where many people don't know they're positive, where social taboos prevent them from telling others and condoms are very rarely used. Again this law was certainly not imposed by the EU or anyone else, but sometimes some laws are harsh for some individuals but eventually benefitial for society, so I think we have no right critizising Rwandas legislation if we cannot provide other solutions for them. |

| Western governments don't give a shit about these people. They are not interested in helping them, just reducing there numbers. Just like the poor people in Haiti, the hospitals have nothing. Very little medication, no clean water or sanitary and no education. But they have plenty of birth control pills stocked to the ceilings thanks to the good old US of A.

| its a very basic human right to reproduce, many great people have come from humble beginings, i think its playing god to take someones choice to breed. where do you draw the line as to who is worthy to have children, someone mentioned hitler before, is this not the first step in creating the master race??

| Oh come on, remember what we say about the Hitler-argument ? ... It's not about being worthy, it's about being able to care for a kid that the state cannot care for! People with Aids, disabled people won't be able to raise their kid, and Rwanda does not need more orphans. Mentioning basic human rights in the individual case is all very nice and valid, but sometimes the interest of a society may override that of individuals, something the so-called universal human rights have failed to adress. Example: An African doctor may lead a better live working in London as a taxi driver and illegal medical practioner, but thousands of others are markedly worse off due to his choice. And it's the same here, it's never fair or nice for everyone, it's always a hard tradeoff of individual rights and interests and the wellbeing of a society. Not realizing this and babbling about creating the uber-mensch or similar nonsense is just missleading. So once again, stop patronizing Rwanda with your naively perceived intellectual and moral superiority and let it take care of its own problems. So if you're not helping, step aside. |
