Pakistan : Taliban leader Mullah Omar maybe killed

    Taliban leader Mullah Omar killed
    23.05.2011

Afghan Taliban leader Mullah Mohammad Omar has been killed in Pakistan, a private television channel reported Monday.

"Mullah Omar was killed on way from Quetta to North Waziristan, " TOLO television said in its news bulletin, Xinhua reported.

However, it did not provide details on how he was killed and by whom.

Meanwhile, a security official confirmed the killing, saying, " it is correct that Mullah Omar has been killed."

The official emphasized that Mullah Omar was killed inside Pakistan.

Taliban militants fighting Afghan and NATO-led troops in Afghanistan have yet to make comment.

Mullah Omar has survived massive U.S. military manhunt since the collapse of Taliban regime by U.S-led invasion in late 2001 for sheltering al-Qaida chief Osama Bin Laden.

U.S. commandos killed Bin Laden in a raid on his hideout in Pakistan on May 2.

KABUL, Afghanistan — The Taliban said on Monday that its leader, Mullah Muhammad Omar, is alive and “living in a safe place,” disputing reports coming from inside Afghanistan’s intelligence agency indicating that he had been killed in Pakistan two days ago.

Would be nice, and somewhat expected given this supposed treasure trove of intelligence the navy walruses got.

But the source doesn't seem very reliable.

OK so what we've established is that he's either:

    -Dead
    -Disappeared
    -Safe

With no evidence to prove any of it other than rent-a-quotes.

    No real story there then.

P.S. Don't forget the Rusky that says OBL died in Chechnya five years ago and he saw him being buried.

THAT'S what I was thinking of.

    it's Schrödinger's Mullah!
Schrödinger's Mullah is a thought experiment, usually described as a paradox, devised by Austrian physicist Erwin Schrödinger in 1935. It illustrates what he saw as the problem of the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics applied to everyday objects. The thought experiment presents a Mullah that might be alive or dead, depending on an earlier random event. In the course of developing this experiment, he coined the term Verschränkung (entanglement).

I thought they were talking about that prick with the hook who the UK tax-payers so thoughtfully provide for.

Can't a Mullah take holiday without people saying he's dead anymore?

Probably visiting Disneyworld with the family.

The CNN article was a bit better, its amazing how quick the Pakistanis and ISI were to come out and say he was still alive. Of course they know he's still alive, he's on their payroll.

Taliban and Pakistan reject speculation Mullah Omar is dead
