Florida moves to ban testicles on vehicles

A gun shop-owning Florida senator wants to ban fake bull testicles on vehicles.

TALLAHASSEE - Senate lawmakers in Florida have voted to ban the fake bull testicles that dangle from the trailer hitches of many trucks and cars throughout the state.
Republican Sen. Cary Baker, a gun shop owner from Eustis, Florida, called the adornments offensive and proposed the ban.
Motorists would be fined $60 for displaying the novelty items, which are known by brand names like Truck Nutz and resemble the south end of a bull moving north.
The Florida Senate voted last week to add the measure to a broader transportation bill, but it is not included in the House version.
In a spirited debate laced with double entendre, Senate lawmakers questioned whether the state should curtail freedom of expression in vehicle accessories.
Critics of the ban included the Senate Rules Chairman, Sen. Jim King, a Jacksonville Republican whose truck sported a pair until his wife protested.
The bill's sponsor doubted it would succeed.

"It's probably not going to make it through the process," Baker said, "It won't be much of story in a few days."

    ^ Good point.

I've never heard of these truck nutz.

It seems similar to the American concept of "bigger is better."

    Weirdos.

Thought Americans are unfamiliar with the word "offensive"! Whatever happened to the freedom of speech/expression or human rights eh?

I don't understand why the "gun-shop owning" statement was included in this piece. It has nothing to do with the story. This reporter could work for the Pattaya Mail.

If the senator owned a steakhouse, would that be germane? How about a Hooters?

If the story revealed that the senator had three small children, I would buy it. Or if he had a plastics fabrication business, it would be relavant.

Purported objective reporters with agendas should be fired, editors beaten up, publishers shot. It's obvious the reporter had as much interest in telling the truck nutz story as revealing this senator owned a gun shop. There's a place for drivel like that: TD Issues.

Communities have the ability to set their own limits as to what's offensive and what's not. Pretty novel, huh?

What does it have to do with guns? I'm sure this Republican guy probably wants to crank on his shank when he sees those balls swinging in traffic in front of him. You know most Republican senators are ball suckers like that horny toilet guy up there in the midwest. He probably could argue this as being a danger as people like him will get erections then get their stick shifts mixed up with their private parts.

And ya know the next thing they will class as offensive is the nut sack on a bull and if you own one you will have to have him fitted with Boxer shorts, briefs would be to revealing.

I lived in Florida when Orlando when Orange County voted to ban display of nipples and pubic area at strip clubs. I went to the meeting and it was a circus of dancing girls, mad evangelists and 'The Monsters of the Midday' (Russ, Bo and Dirty Jim) from Real Radio 104.1 broadcasting live from the Council chamber. Dirty Jim spoke in the meeting!

Bloody septics still passed the law and ridiculous stick-on stars or circular plasters were worn henceforth.

What a waste of time, I am sure it has really made life better for Floridians in the 10 years hence!
