I hate to agree, but I do. Twin sets, sturdy shoes, unshaved legs, unflattering clothes...English chicks hated me when I worked in London. I went to the gym every lunch hour, facial once a week, gave up shopping for nice clothes until I went to NY on biz, and wore mini skirts and stilettos to work. The only other woman in the firm who looked good was an options trader who blasted me outta the water (well, she had way bigger boobies, too). She was French.

As the only British woman (that I know of) on this forum, there's no point in bothering to argue this point. Even a fellow woman has put the boot in, so I'm bowing out gracefully.

However, I would quote one small passage & add my own answer. It may start to explain why many of my female compatriots spend so little time on their beauty routines and prefer the company of booze, Eastenders & 'femur sized Toblerones'.

And I can’t help feeling I’ve let British women off lightly. It’s not just the Americans you don’t compare to: British women don’t have the curves of the Italians, the simmering sexuality of the Spanish, the sophistication of the French or the openness of the Scandinavians.
So what do British women have?

My answer? (and perhaps the cause of all the perceived problems)

British men.

I think NR has made a few good points though, British men are not particularly famous for their "romantic" side, women will just adapt to the "mates" they have (drinking etc...)
