    Burma - Sorted

Ageing actor Sylvester Stallone has resurrected one of his most famous film characters - John Rambo - for one last mission.

A sneak peek of the upcoming movie shows the 60-year-old actor, who filmed parts of the movie in Thailand earlier this year, wrangling huge machine guns and leaving a sea of enemies in his wake.

While he still sports an impressive set of biceps, the actor did use a spritely 30-year-old body double to do the stunts the sexagenarian found too challenging.

Stallone is bringing back the legendary action hero in a new film about troubled Vietnam war veteran and guerrilla warfare expert.

Stallone last appeared in the 1988 film Rambo 3, almost 20 years ago and the new film is due for release next year.

In the latest instalment, Rambo finds himself recruited by a group of Christian human rights missionaries to protect them against pirates, during a humanitarian aid delivery to the persecuted Karen people of Burma.

After some of the missionaries are taken prisoner by sadistic Burmese soldiers, Rambo gets a second impossible job: to assemble a team of mercenaries to rescue the surviving relief workers

The star, whose return as Rocky last year was a critical and financial success, is doing double-duty on the project as both director and star.

Earlier this year, Stallone was charged with importing a banned bodybuilding drug in Australia.

The actor and his entourage of minders were stopped last month at Sydney airport en route to the Australian premiere of his sixth Rocky movie when a routine X-ray of the party's baggage revealed 48 vials of Jintropin, a so-called miracle drug.

Considered a performance-enhancing hormone, its use is strictly controlled in Australia.

I hope I'm doing that well at sixty.
I doubt he'll be hurling himself of a Pattaya balcony anytime soon.

He may be a muppet, but got to hand it to him for writing successful, if average and formulaic, screenplays. Lots can criticise, but not many can put together a coherant screenplay. Not many people picture him as a writer, but that is what he essentially is.
