As an unexceptional countries illegal sanctions have stopped Iran selling the enriched item. Iran is increasing it's strength and hence it's value, as allowed to in the UNSC Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) agreement.

One news source reporting ships were carrying Japanese-related cargo, another news source saying one of the tankers was going to Taiwan. Iran claims to have rescued the crew members, 5th Fleet say they did and Iran didn't.

Some classic misinformation coming out from both sides.

It's weird. You'd think something like this that could potentially spark all out war in the Gulf and threaten the oil supplies of a good portion of the world would get some bigger headlines.

With the tankers the conspiracy theorists are running with the Tonkin analogy, yet the 5th fleet have not said a thing about who is responsible, and the story is not being pushed as major, breaking news in the press.

One wonders when the situation satellite, drone, submarines, UWUA, ships radar, sonar, video etc. will become available to substantiate either allegations. Maybe everyone was sleeping or posting on their fan page.

I am presuming the immense array of the formidable, foreign, fleet of warships, allegedly off the Oman southern coast, do have a 24/7/365 defence system and procedures in place.
