Strasbourg shooting: French and German police hunt gunman

French and German police were continuing to hunt on Wednesday night for the gunman who killed three people and injured 13 others in an attack on Strasbourg’s Christmas market.

Suspect Chérif Chekatt is a hardened criminal who was on France’s national security list as a potential terror threat, the county’s authorities have admitted.

Witnesses said the man shouted “Allahu Akbar” as he shot into the crowds and slashed at passersby with a knife.

Two victims died at the scene and a third was said to have been left “brain dead”. Six people were critically injured.

The public prosecutor Rémy Heitz told journalists the attack was being investigated as terrorism-linked.

Some 720 members of the French security forces were today searching for Chekatt, a 29-year-old born in Strasbourg.

German federal police also confirmed they were searching for Chekatt and his brother in case they have crossed the border into Germany. At the German-French border in Kehl all cars leaving France are being controlled by the german police, and there are controls at three other border points.
Presidency in danger of being toppled? Country in mass protests? No one listening to your tantrums about your "power"? If no one else can help you, and if you can find them (check the list of "known and monitored jihadi terrorists" who is ready to go), you can hire The False Flag Distraction Team.

Life was much easier in my day. Back then we only had to worry about terrorism from Islamic immigrants. Now it's their children as well. I blame western Imperialism.

Simple. Macrons secret soldiers probably dropped of a bag of guns and are only pissed off that he didn't do more damage to distract the people from their protests about getting Le Grande Shaft.

Two police sources confirmed to Reuters that the 29-year-old was killed in the Neudorf-Meinau area of the city after a police operation was launched at around 9pm local time.

A French official was also quoted by the Associated Press as saying the suspect had been killed but his identity could not be confirmed.

He might need some more riot vehicles, hopefully without EU insignia as people might get the wrong idea.

Na, he lost face which is good enough reason to kill; the Frenchies are traditionally militant and not above bringing the country to a halt, if Macron doesn't back down. If he does break it and infect his country with peace it'll be only until they nab him trying to rob them some other way.

If he needs the money that bad he could always go visit Frau, but will have to queue behind Greece, Italy and whoever else is there first.

Some random muslim bloke shot. They will make up a story to fit around it later. Best this way as it gives them time to get the media printing the right stuff.
