King Power chief Vichai's helicopter crashes outside Leicester stadium

LONDON: A helicopter belonging to Leicester City football club owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha crashed in the club's car park on Saturday evening, according to British media, with photographs posted on Twitter showing a fireball.

It was not known whether Vichai was in the helicopter.

Leicester police tweeted that they were dealing with an incident near the club's King Power Stadium and that emergency services were also at the scene.

Vichai bought the club in 2010, and the unfancied side won the Premier League title in 2016.

Leicester had played at home against West Ham United earlier on Saturday, drawing 1-1.

I don't know who Maxwell Jackson is but even if it's true he could have done the decent thing and waited for the families to be informed.

    Added:

Although it seems that might be a troll. Not a very bright one I would suggest.

Families are informed and the Srivaddhanaprabha family said that they will make a public statement on Sunday.

It is highly likely (!) that no one survived the crash and it is more than highly likely that

Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha was on the helicopter.
He always arrived and left in helicopter when Leicester played home matches. He is dead....

Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha was in the helicopter when it came down at about 20:30 BST on Saturday, a source close to the family has told the BBC.

Leicester has not said if its owner was on the helicopter, but the BBC quoted a source close to the family as saying he was on the doomed flight. Another source close to the club said the helicopter was also carrying a daughter of Mr Vichai, two pilots and a fifth person whose identity was not immediately known.

Of course Vichai was on the helicopter. It drops him off and picks him up at home matches. It was there to pick him up. The chances of him not being aboard the chopper to take him home to London are slim and none.

Nev, although not officially declared, you are right he was on it. Regardless of opinion on him as a person and his business dealings there are children (a daughter also believed to be on board) and family who've lost a father and that is never something to celebrate - Gent

Was it a genuine malfunction/accident? After the international outrage at Russia's assassination attempt and Khashoggi's unfortunate dismemberment during a fist fight, would another obsessed 3rd World leader risk fuelling the next round of righteous condemnation? Family, business, grudge? Should Squarehead be concerned? Am I too cynical?
