But that's not exactly what happened in this case though.

The fact they had the cops called on them for essentially doing nothing and waiting for someone is what makes it unusual and a story in the first place.

I expect the reason they had the cops called on them is that the uppity niggras wouldn't leave when asked to.

    Yeah OK.

So their offense was being black in a public place. Surprised the police didn’t shoot them 10 - 15 times.

    Each.

Walk into a restaurant, sit down and refuse to order, make the decision to stay and order nothing after being told to order something or leave?

If they weren't looking to make a problem/event/story ordering a simple bottle of water while waiting for whoever wouldn't have been too difficult.

Thought it was a privately owned restaurant.

Where has this ‘asked to leave’ bit actually come from? That’s not what has been reported.

They went in, dude asked to use the bathroom, was told he couldn’t as a non-customer, they sat down to wait, someone came over and asked if they wanted to order, they said they were waiting for their business associate to join them first... the cops were called.

And at this point both Starbucks and the police have apologized and admitted they were in the wrong.

Basically the whole issue here is that black men in the US in particular face this sort of shit as a matter of course in their daily life. They’re treated differently by society and the authorities simply because they’re black.

Some of the posts in this thread bare this out also: assumptions, inferences and extrapolations being made to justify why these two guys somehow deserved to be handcuffed and lead out of a Starbucks because they were waiting for an important business meeting and hadn’t ordered yet.

Next someone will surely find a way to make it all an example of how white men are actually the victims in all of his...

That's thee thing. The whole interaction between the mgr and the two blacks isn't getting reported and the mgr's not talking. I'm thinking she just called the cops when they said they were just waiting for a friend and never asked them to leave. Just figured they were trouble and called the cops.

The talk shows must be offering up some money to get her to tell her side.

you've never told a server that you were going to wait for the rest of your party to arrive before ordering?

That’s my understanding from what I’ve read also.

None of the other witnesses / customers have contradicted it either (at least not that I’ve seen).

I’ve actually got a great anecdote about being ‘asked’ to leave a restaurant that’s kinda apropos to this thread.

I'd love to post it but unfortunately it would identify someone other than myself and Smeg, stroller, taxi & Co. would be all over it like flies to shit.

Not too sure. I haven't actually read the reports in any great detail.

Isn't that kinda refusing to make or purchase or leave.

As they refused to make a purchase, that only leaves the 'leave' option in the request from staff.

Or at least according to 3rd person hearsay.

Do all restaurants in the US keep their toilets locked or just a Starbucks thing?

Not without ordering drinks (water, wine or a glass of beer) or an appetizer, no.

Micky D's had to install UV lights in the toilets of their Dublin branches around 20+ years ago, so junkies wouldn't use them (much harder to see superficial veins).

I'd imagine the drug problems within most US cities don't encourage private businesses to leave their bathrooms open to all and sundry.

The Starbucks manager who called the police on two black customers for trespassing previously branded customers who didn't speak English 'rude'.

Holly Hylton managed the Center City Philadelphia store for a year and 'mutually parted ways' with the coffee chain after sparking a race row.

The 31-year-old asked the pair to leave after refusing to let them use the bathroom without buying anything, and called 911 when they stayed.

Footage filmed by a witness inside the store showed several police talking quietly with two black men seated at a table. After a few minutes, officers handcuff the men and lead them outside as other customers say they weren't doing anything wrong.

A white man identified as real estate developer Andrew Yaffe arrives and tells the officers the two men were waiting for him. An officer was captured on video saying the men were not complying and were being arrested for trespassing.

Now that ^ is definitely more appropriate to the thread, in my opinion. I totally agree with your point of view, on both posts # 79 & 80, Mr. Luigi, sir.

You'd be amazed at how often that's said.

Considering the obvious source, yet another effort in futility. Fyi ~ you suppose wrongly, paison, Don't make the mistake of taking post #94 out of context. I just give credit to people, whenever such credit is due. Period! Capisce?

What's the % of non-whites in ameristan, more than 1 in 7? Seems somebody isn't being chosen. By company policy?

Or do white people feel unsafe if a non-white is serving them these days in ameristan. Didn't matter a few decades ago.

A review of Starbucks "Target Audience:

"The target age of Starbucks' market is 22 to 60, with the teen audience growing steadily. Even the 50- and 60-year-olds rely on their smartphones to make their lives easier. Starbucks obliged in 2015 with its app for mobile orders and payments, and it was a huge success.

Ever since offering Wi-Fi to the public in 2002, the company's on-the-go audience has seen Starbucks as not just a pit stop, but as a mini-office where they can set up their laptops and attend to business while sipping their favorite beverages.

Most of the company's audience consists of educated, white-collar professionals who read a lot and stay up on news and trends, including those about health.

The decisions to promote sustainable coffee growing, open farmer support centers, reduce the company's own footprint, use recycled fiber cups, provide college opportunities to employees, open stores in underserved and less affluent areas, and work to improve surrounding communities appeal to the target audience that shares the company's mission of positive change."

    Such is ameristan marketing bullshit
