We will attack not only Iran's proxies, but also the country itself

    The sooner the better

    Netanyahu to Iran:
'Not only Iran's proxies, we'll also attack the country itself'

'I have a message to the tyrants of Tehran: Do not test Israel's resolve.'

Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu warned Tehran on Saturday over aggressions by what he called Iran and its "proxies" in Syria, while showing what he said was a piece of an Iranian drone shot down in Israeli airspace. "I have a message to the tyrants of Tehran: Do not test Israel's resolve," Netanyahu said at the Munich Security Conference.
"The Iranian regime is hurting its own people. Iran is not Nazi Germany and there are many differences between the regimes, but there are also many similar points: Iran has repeatedly said it wants to destroy Israel and is threatening the world with violence. Iran has to decide whether it is a country or a problem. They chose to be a problem that also threatens you. As far as I'm concerned, Iran is the greatest threat to the entire world, not just to Israel," Netanyahu said.
Netanyahu declared that Israel would prevent Iran from approaching its border. "We said we have red lines, we are preventing Iran from establishing itself in Syria, but Iran is trying to cross these red lines, and last week they sent a drone to Israel, which we downed. We will not allow Iran to establish a force on our border. We will attack not only Iran's proxies, but also the country itself."
He turned to the audience and told them, "The Iranian Foreign Minister will soon talk about peace. He claims Iran is fighting extremism, and he argues the conflict in the Middle East won't be resolved by a military solution," Netanyahu said. "How will he explain the fact that they are sending drones to Israel?" Netanyahu wondered.
At this stage he took out a rectangular piece of dark green metal which he called "a piece of that Iranian drone, or what's left of it, after we shot it down." Holding it aloft he asked, "Foreign Minister Zarif, do you recognize this?", drawing laughter from the audience.
Netanyahu also referred to the conference's venue. "Here, exactly, four decades ago we realized how important our security is. Without security, nothing can exist, no peace, no security, no prosperity. For the Jewish people, two decisive events occurred here: In 1972, 11 of our athletes were murdered here, and 80 years ago there was an event here with serious consequences, which signaled the most difficult period in history.
"The leaders who signed the agreement here were people who thought they were bringing peace and strengthened the Nazis in the Munich agreement. They could have chosen a different route," Netanyahu concluded.

When Iran's words are spun and twisted to make the country seem belligerant, Iran is a nasty aggressive nation that deserves to have sanctions.
Yet when Israel is overtly belligerant....?

Netanyahu is just deflecting from his own problems. Perhaps there is a law in Israel that says a PM can't be jailed while the country is at war.

Well here's the Gauntlet then, you filthy coward (and crook) Netanyahu. Go ahead, strike Iran- not cowered under the apron strings of Uncle Sam, who's long suffering taxpayers you expect to pay for everything plus do the heavy lifting for you, and the dirty work- but by yourself, as a true Sovereign nation. Not like 1971, when the US pulled you out of the shit- no, prove yourself real men, who don't run crying to Mommy. Have fun- I certainly will.

While I'm no fan, how exactly did the US "pull Israel out of the shit"?

They have their faults, but they know how to kick Arab arse.

You may be interested in this article:Iran at 39 years old: drones in Israel (?), trade with Europe, calm on the streets

"The Iranian Revolution turned 39 on February 11.

It’s about time to get married! At least that’s what people tell me – I recently turned 40.

“Married to the revolution” is indeed a good description for Iranian society at 39…but the fullness of Iran’s marital bliss is a 100% domestic issue – after all, nobody knows what goes on behind a couple’s closed doors (nor do we want to know, LOL).

But looking at this from a foreign perspective, at 39 years old the Islamic Republic of Iran appears closer to than ever to a partial rapprochement with the West, and one based on mutually-beneficial cooperation. Such a rebalancing, everyone must concede, could only have been prompted by a vast and wide-ranging increase in Iranian strength since 1979.

The day before the anniversary, Israel claimed that they shot down an Iranian drone inside Israel…which is obviously preposterous. Even the Israeli military and media admitted they were “puzzled”.

It’s not that Iran should be worried about violating Israel’s sovereignty: Israel is, of course, an illegitimate state which keeps Palestinians in concentration camps, a practice which Israel’s elders leaned from the “legitimate” European states.

But Iran has nothing to gain from risking a drone flight in Israel. My guess is that the drone was captured in Syria and then hauled out in a fake show, but why now?

Just a couple days later police recommended that Netanyahu be indicted on bribery charges – Iran fear-mongering is among Netanyahu’s favourite diversionary tactics. Israel allegedly bombed Iran targets, which sends the message to the Israeli public that Netanyahu is all that stands between them and Iranian-led annihilation (which is also preposterous).

From another perspective, I lumped the fake drone news along with the (latest) unverified US claim of chemical weapons used by the Syrian goverment, France’s deluded assurance that people view their (latest) call for “humanitarian corridors” as not being motivated by neo-imperialism, as well as with the faltering invasion of Syria by NATO ally/ISIL supporter Turkey (which reminds us that bombing is easy, but that Turkey seemingly hasn’t won a ground battle since the Crimean War).

Indeed, things are going very badly for the West in Syria, so the Iranian drone seemed to me like another attempt to turn the tide with propaganda. While propaganda can start and prolong wars, it certainly can’t win them.

But just for fun, let’s play along and say that Israel’s drone claim is correct: It means that 39 years after Iranian Revolution it is Iran who is invading Israel, and not the other way around!"

How exactly do Iran (inspected many times its nuclear facilities) threaten Israel? A nuclear superpower - an only one in the world not open to anyone...
