Britons who join Islamic State should be hunted and killed: defence minister

LONDON (Reuters) - Britons who have joined the Islamic State militant group in Syria and Iraq should be hunted down and killed, Britain’s new defence minister said.

Gavin Williamson said that Britons who had gone to Syria or Iraq to fight for Islamic State hated what Britain stands for, and that air strikes could be used against the estimated 270 British citizens who are still out there.

“Quite simply my view is a dead terrorist can’t cause any harm to Britain,” Williamson told the Daily Mail in an interview published late on Wednesday.

“We should do everything we can do to destroy and eliminate that threat,” he said, adding that he believed any British fighters who joined Islamic State should never be allowed to return to the United Kingdom.

Williamson, 41, has been defence minister for little over a month, replacing Michael Fallon after he quit in a sexual harassment scandal.

Prominent British militants such as Mohammed Emwazi, known as Jihadi John, and Sally Jones, have been reportedly killed by British or U.S. forces since travelling to fight for Islamic State.

After the death of Jones, who was known as the “White Widow”, Fallon said that British nationals who chose to leave the UK and fight for Islamic State were a “legitimate target”.

Is the new minister going to walk the walk or just talk the tak? What's stopping the British government/military from doing what he said? When was the last time the British military actually fired a missile at IS in Syria?

Wonder if the Dishonourable Gavin Williamson knows these are people employed by the spooks or entirely made up to enrage the stupid BBC / CNN reliant public, or if he does know, and is just pushing out the bogeyman propaganda because he hasn't seen his name in lights for a few days?

In terms of governance , this Tory regime is sure scraping the barrel. Fine for some pissed up cvunt in the boozer calling the shots to vent his bile and advocate slaughter without any evidence corroborating the allegation that mere presence in Syria/Iraq constitutes a capital crime worthy of terminal punishment, but it is another thing entirely for a Secretary of State to invoke capital punishment as an extra-judicial state intervention without any due process and outside of any remit identified by the Attorney General concluding such action is not ultra vires.

Or, in other words, Gavin's a nazi cvunt and talking out of his arse. Thing is, he looks like his mum wanked him off in the bath until he left home when he was 23 years old.

If it's all right to kill UK citizens in a third country, without trial or real evidence, intelligence is not evidence in a UK court,
Then they should be eligible for the death penalty, or assassination in the UK, location should not play a part.

I say kill them all, be it Iran or Birmingham, treason is treason.

And if they make a mistake and kill the wrong person then they can just apologise and everyone can then just forget about it?

    You fucking idiot.

Yes, harry was correct. Its tin foil hat time.
    Drone attacks for parking misdemeanors.

So what would you do with them, try them in the courts, with a team of publically funded human rights defence lawyers calling foul every 5 minutes.

They knew the risks before they left. End of.

    Give it a rest.

well, you don't actually need to do anything with them if you think about it, and take your head out of your daily mail lined arse for a second. What this stupid tory career politician twat is suggesting is spending millions hunting down each one of these 270 (oooohhh yes so many) idiot who have fallen for the ISIS ruse. Why bother? They will get killed, or if they try to come in again, they get picked up. Remove their passport prior? Sure why not. Put them on trial here, then boot them out to Saudi who had been paying their wages? Sure. I don't care. But I do not want TORY FILTH ponces like this [at][at][at][at] having the ability and power to kill people with no trial just because he wants to. Anyone who thinks that is a good idea is an imbecile. This is the power these fuckers desperately want, and they will use it, the same as they regularly stop people at the airport, detain them for TERRORISM offences when all they have done is protested a Frack Site in the UK! They give a grand reason why they want a power, but then use it for anything they want to.

My opinion is that the UK shouldn't target British nationals as individuals in Syria. It's not worth the effort to locate them and target them then try to kill them, just 'cuz they're British. ("Excuse me, can you tell me where Abdul-Al-Hemel-hamsteadi is please? We'd awfully like to fire a million pound missile at him and blow him to smitherines." Just fire missiles at groups of IS fighters and if a Brit is amongst them, so bloody what. No loss.

Well its not the greatest idea, i'll give you that. But its not thst bad all things considered.

The last thing anybody wants is to have them back. trials would take forever and cost millions. The human rights loons would have a field day. The public would never stand for it. Most muslims wouldnt want them back either.

Remove their passports? They would obtain a new identity before you can say allah akhbar and be off again.

    Do 'em in i say.

Some have already returned to the UK (400 odd according to reports) and some have been jailed (14 in one report).

Once the civil war begins again in Hibernia and we try to oust the imperial colonial oppressors and their plantation orphans from the six counties, we could make use of these Jihadi boys. Give them a new doctrine and christen them into the Flynn O'Akhbar Brigade we can point them at the bitch Maybot and fire away!

The enemy of my enemy sort of thing, eh what.
