This is why the State needs to create a balance between regulating gun ownership, the processes involved enable to be allowed to own a gun like mental/psychological checks, and routinely checking the status of gun owners.

More confusion about the time line...

Federal agents told ABC News, however, the FBI has known for several days that the Sheriff Joseph Lombardo, chief of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, was providing inaccurate information to the public about the sequence of events inside the Mandalay Bay hotel.

Lombardo acknowledged on Monday, under pressure from the FBI, that Campos reported that he had been shot at least six minutes before the rampage began.

“What we have learned is Mr. Campos was encountered by the suspect prior to his shooting to the outside world,” Lombardo said in a press conference.

According to Brad Garrett, a former FBI agent and ABC News consultant, the change is significant. If the hotel knew there was an active shooter on the 32nd floor six minutes before the rampage began, Garrett says, it raises the question of whether they could have done more to stop him.

I'd be curious to know whether hotel security is truly equipped to deal with a situation like this. Some of these casinos do have pretty major security operations, but a lot of them are tailored more to catching cheaters, robbers and the like. My guess is this siutation was way above their pay grade.

    Here come the ambulance chasers.

"A California college student injured in the Las Vegas music festival massacre filed a lawsuit Wednesday against the hotel owners, the concert promoter and bump stock manufacturers, claiming they were all liable in the mass shooting.

The claims against MGM Resorts International, which owns both Mandalay Bay and the concert venue that hosted the festival, raise more questions about a timeline that has changed numerous times -- and, according to Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo, could change again. The suit also questions why hotel staff didn't notice gunman Stephen Paddock's behavior in several instances."

Sue everybody, maybe the insurance companies will get tired of paying out on all the lawsuits and start pushing for some gun control

Here is an interview with the shooters brother.

It's worth watching. He seems under stress and/or drunk or on something.

I have to say, something is not right about this investigation, local cops running the show even though he allegedly looked at other targets in other states.

The FBI and the justice department have taken over much lessor crimes, yet they have left this to a sheriffs department to take the lead.
Not saying the FBI are not investigating, but they are not taking the lead for some reason, just sounds like they want to stay in the background.

Does it not make sense to you that a joint FBI/Local law enforcement investigation combines the best of both worlds: Local knowledge and federal resources?
