Houthis fire ballistic missile towards Riyadh

Yemen's Houthi movement said on Friday it had fired a ballistic missile toward the Saudi capital Riyadh and the Arab coalition waging war in Yemen said it had intercepted and destroyed a projectile around 200 km (120 miles) west of the city.

The incident occurred a day before U.S. President Donald Trump was expected in Riyadh at the start of his first foreign trip since taking office in January.

A few simple questions:

1. By what means did the Houthi rebels obtain a ballistic missile?

2. By what means did the Houthi rebels obtain the launch/delivery system?

3. By what means did the Houthi rebels obtain the required operating systems training?

4. What measure of logic could possibly inspire the Houthi leadership, to conceive of the asinine notion of launching
a ballistic missile attack, against the far more powerful (next-door) SA regime, that is also 100% in bed with both the UK & US?

Obviously, there's considerably more to the story, than what meets the eye, as usual. Just curious, of course

Why not? It's not like the Saudis would stop if the Yemenis didn't send it. Perhaps they want the Saudis to think twice, or perhaps they think they will even up the war a bit. Those are just ideas. I've no idea what they are thinking (and I'm not suggesting the ideas would work).

The BBC are reporting that Ali Abdullah Saleh has been killed .... by the Houtis. Not so long ago, they were fighting on the same side! A few days ago, Saleh offered to enter talks with Riyadh if they (Saudi Arabia) stopped their aggression against Yemen.

If you were Iran would you want:

( i ) Saudi Arabia fully armed and focused and ready to take you on.

or

( ii ) Saudi Arabia totally distracted and pouring money and weapons into a pointless war on its border?
