Not likely to get them all but even though NK's artillery may not be the most reliable it is well capable of doing great damage to Seoul. Hence a preemptive mlitary strike on NK nuclear sites and facilities is not going to happen. Not to mention China has made it clear it would remain neutral if North Korea attacks the United States, but warned it would defend NK if the U.S. strikes first and tries to overthrow Kim Jong Un’s regime they will come to the aid of NK.

Trump tough talk is just that. Talk.

And in the mean time military spending is sky rocketing in Asia (can you smell the $€$ to be made ). China thought they can get away with their tip toeing tactics of building up their military without anyone noticing.

South Korea conducts live-fire naval drills, as North reportedly moves ICBM to coast

Seoul: North Korea has been observed moving what appeared to be an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) towards its west coast, South Korea's Asia Business Daily reports, citing an unidentified intelligence source.
The rocket started moving on Monday night, a day after North Korea's sixth nuclear test, and was spotted moving at night to avoid surveillance, the report said. North Korea has launch facilities for its missile program on its west coast.
There's a high chance of a launch before the September 9 which is North Korea's national foundation day, the Daily reported.
South Korea's defence ministry said they were unable to confirm the contents of the report. The ministry said in Parliament on Monday that North Korea was considered ready to launch more missiles, including ICBMs, at any time.
Earlier South Korea's navy conducted a live-fire exercise off the country's eastern coast into waters between Korean peninsula and Japan. North Korea's nuclear test site was the intended virtual target.
Seoul's Defence Ministry said on Tuesday that 20 vessels warships including a 2500-tonne frigate, a 1000-tonne patrol ship and 400-tonne guided-missile vessels participated in drills aimed at retaliating against potential North Korean provocations.

Seoul says more naval drills are planned from Wednesday to Saturday in the country's southern seas.

I don't think they have the kind of money that Japan, S. Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia etc. have.
I don't think the U.S. is going to sell a missile system to Iran & Co.

Japan is reportedly drafting a plan to get its citizens out of South Korea

    • Japan is reportedly working on plans for how it would evacuate its citizens in South Korea if a war were to break out on the Korean Peninsula
    • There are about 57,000 Japanese citizens in South Korea at any one time, according to Nikkei Asian Review
The Japanese government is drawing up plans to evacuate its citizens from South Korea in the event of a war, the Nikkei Asian Review reported on Tuesday.
That's no small feat, as there are about 38,000 long-term Japanese residents and another 19,000 tourists and short-terms travelers in South Korea, Nikkei added.
North Korea conducted its largest-ever underground nuclear test on Sunday, just days after firing a missile that flew over the northern Japanese island of Hokkaido, sharply ratcheting up tensions in the region.
"If the U.S. decided on a military strike against the North, the Japanese government would start moving toward an evacuation on its own accord regardless of whether the American plans are public," a source in the Japanese government reportedly told Nikkei.
The Japanese government is working on different scenarios to evacuate citizens in South Korea, including evacuating citizens home by sea from the southeastern port city of Busan should airports be closed, Nikkei reported.

Difficult to imagine the Chinese following a wingnut into a major war of aggression. Not much for them to gain and a lot to lose.

Spot on, which means Trump's huffing and puffing makes no difference as the ball is firmly in fatboy's court, and the absolute best case scenario allows him to throw the first punch which will inflict unacceptable damage, after which any action has little to zero impact beyond a hand on heart pledge not to let it happen again, ho hum.

And if he does kick it off, then under someone like Trump all bets are probably off and wimps across the free world can show everyone how much their hearts bleed for some dead civvies while the far reaching fallout includes social/economic meltdown like some Hollywood movie. But few if any of the noisy ones will pause to consider (they hate that!) it has less to do with fatboy and more to do with the west's liberal approach to threats which prevent appropriate action against inappropriate behaviour until it is too late, and then steps in with serial mismanagement to impose a new era of catastrophic results.

Fire away, but this is why I believe the west is way too civilised to survive modern times.

How about you offer the solution to NK, then we can flatter you by inviting more of the same elsewhere. Never know, you might end up President of the World.

Thanks for the "intelligent" advice. It never occurred to me to use a different airline with lots of layovers all over the world. What I am interested in right now is the two business class tickets I have already purchased on Korean Air.

As usual Vlad the Great is the only one talking sense.

North Korea nuclear crisis: Putin calls sanctions useless

What did Vladimir Putin say about sanctions?

The Russian leader was speaking at the meeting of the Brics group (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) in Xiamen, China.
Although he condemned the North's test as "provocative", Mr Putin said: "Sanctions of any kind would now be useless and ineffective.

"They'd rather eat grass than abandon their [nuclear weapons] programme unless they feel secure. And what can establish security? The restoration of international law. We should promote dialogue among all interested parties."
Citing a "humanitarian aspect", Mr Putin said millions of people would suffer under tougher measures, adding: "Sanctions have been exhausted."
On Monday, at the United Nations in New York, US envoy Nikki Haley argued that only the strongest sanctions would enable the problem to be resolved through diplomacy.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel backed that stance on Tuesday, saying more sanctions were urgently needed to counter the North's "flagrant breach of international conventions".

Is it possible to exchange my mileage for a radiation suit?

My ticket is radioactive, can I change the booking?

How much will it cost to change my cancelled flight if Seoul is annihilated by a nuclear bomb?

Can I change other flights in my booking, as well as the cancelled flight as we circle around the mushroom cloud?

How many days do I have to live?

Can I cancel and refund my ticket if North Korea nukes South Korea?

If I change my booking from smoking to non-smoking and theres a nuclear explosion what happens to my seat?

If a nuclear bomb goes off, what happens to my request for a special dietary meal?

If I change my booking, what happens to the APIS information I have already provided, "holy shit a mushroom"

I've re-booked my cancelled flight: how do I check in wearing a Hazmat suit?

Can I upgrade my seat if all hell breaks loose on the Korean Peninsula?

What happens to my non-flight products (hotels, cars, tours and transfers) when Kim Jong Un nukes Tokyo?
