China commits $3.4B for Philippines Infrastructure Projects

The projects were part of the Philippines’ infrastructure wish list, which it presented to China for possible financing, either through grants or loans, three months after President Rodrigo Duterte’s China state visit in October.

The loan agreements for the irrigation, water supply and railway projects have yet to be signed, but two of these projects could be launched in the first half, with the third one to be rolled out before the year ends, Wu Zhengping, director-general at China’s Ministry of Commerce told a media briefing.

Manila needs additional funding to upgrade and modernize its ageing infrastructure in order to lift its growth rate to as much as 8%, create more jobs and reduce poverty.

China has welcomed Mr. Duterte’s foreign policy shift away from traditional ally the United States and toward doing more regional deals for loans and business.

“As we embark on renewed ties, it is imperative that we look back and recall that the ties of friendship between us were never completely severed and continue to this day,” Trade Secretary Ramon M. Lopez said in a joint briefing with China’s new commerce minister Zhong Shan.

The Philippines and China were also due to sign a six-year development program for economic and trade cooperation later this month, Mr. Lopez said.

“The two ministers talked about how China can help Philippines build more projects that have direct bearing on livelihood of Filipino population... and facilitate efforts of the Philippine government to develop its economy and living standards of its people,” said Mr. Zhong. -- Reuters

Currently the Philippine President sees a more peaceful, wealthy world if he sides with China as opposed to an illegal non binding ameristani financed courts ruling. Whether the ameristani managed terrorists will allow peace is of course unknown.

The paradigm shift is being manipulated for the Asian century.

Less and less of the world cares to be associated with the evil and crumbling Anglo-American empire.

    Natural historic cycles.

Another supposition might suggest that The Philippines had been occupied, in one form or another, by the leading rogue terrorist state for every bit of a hundred + years....

    Perspectives will vary, of course.

Or are you suggesting SA is calling the shots/commanding what Amerstani FOrces of Evil Intent (AFOEI) are doing "fighting the terrorists" in the Philippine islands. Same as "fighting the terrorists" in all the other worlds countries.

Or maybe you are suggesting SA special Forces are "assisting" or commanding the acknowledged ameristani SF in Philippine as they do elsewhere.
