Manager at Top Russian Cybersecurity Firm Arrested

The largest Russian cybersecurity company has confirmed that one of its top managers was arrested in December.

The company confirmed a report published Wednesday by the newspaper Kommersant that the head of its computer incidents investigations unit, Ruslan Stoyanov, was arrested last month along with a senior official of the Federal Security Service (FSB), Russia’s main security agency.

The newspaper reported that both men face treason charges.

Kaspersky spokeswoman Maria Shirokova said in a statement that Stoyanov’s arrest had nothing to do with the company and its operations.

U.S. intelligence has accused Russia of intervening in last year’s presidential election in the United States through a hacker attack, with the aim of harming Democratic Party candidate Hillary Clinton and helping the winner, President Donald Trump.

    Russia has denied the accusations.

It should be interesting to see what follows. I bet the USA is involved somewhere.

It seems the Kaspersky bloke "facilitated" a payment to the spook from a "foreign company".

A person with knowledge about all the world's dirt will be difficult to persuade to come clean. If Assange had a dead hand switch why wouldn't Mr. Ruslan Stoyanov.

It's a very easy way to ensure some form of loyalty. Inform them they have a "present" which becomes available to them if the current relationship continues. It may possibly be forfeited if an unforeseen "accident" occurs.

^Generally as a manager of a department or company the said manager would garner many items of non public "news. As the person is the head of a cybersecurity company can only wonder as to what "news" he has the power to hide or publish.

One would also ensure that some "news" items, which may be use in the future, may been hidden until of use to save ones skin.

it's just waking up in a sunny, warm country, being cuddled, squeezed and taken to paradise by a horny cute lady, having a decent cup of home grown coffee and a tasty breakfast followed by inspecting the garden and deciding all of it looks good and no chores to do.

Maybe it's called happiness. No drugs for me, I missed out the 70's because of them.

Well something sends your imagination into a frenzy.

Maybe check your water supply, perhaps it's got too much lead in it.

According to Stoyanov’s Russian LinkedIn profile, he had previously worked at the Russian Interior Cyber Crime Unit.
So it was his mate then.

Selling information about Russian government hacking to a CIA shell company is my guess.

And probably the reason why the US know Russia was hacking the DNC and RNC.

You mean as in a lead piped, supply of water to ones door.

My wife dreams of a piped water supply, currently she has to walk 5 Km to the well with her plastic bottle on her head. She then throws the pig skin into the 20m deep well. Turns the handle to raise the filled skin and empties into her plastic bottle. Repeat 5 times, a very small pig.

She then has to covertly carry the water back on her head. Many times, she tells me, she has been waylaid and her precious fluid taken by a fright of ghosts. It leaves her all hot and bothered and has to rest for a day or two in her own bed.

Lead pipes would mean she wouldn't have to make this walk and risk being ravished by the ghosts.

I'd get an MRI while you're at it.
