I'm not usually overly cautious, but considering our limited knowledge of viruses, and limited ability to kill them without harming those infected, releasing them in mass into Australia's waterways seems like the beginning of a potentially great horror movie.

Ahh but you miss the point. The government doesn't give a fuck. They will have a deal with somewhere to pocket cash out of it.
