The former first lady Nancy Reagan has died, at the age of 94. Reagan was married to President Ronald Reagan, who served in the White House from 1981 to 1989.

The Ronald Reagan Library in Simi Valley, California, confirmed the news.

    I don't like that photo

    Here something better

Nancy Davis Reagan (born Anne Frances Robbins; July 6, 1921[1] – March 6, 2016) was an American actress and First Lady of the United States from 1981 to 1989, being the wife of the 40th President of the United States, Ronald Reagan.
She was born in New York City. After her parents separated, she grew up in Maryland, living with an aunt and uncle for some years; then was then adopted by her mother's new husband. As Nancy Davis, she was a Hollywood actress in the 1940s and 1950s, starring in films such as The Next Voice You Hear..., Night Into Morning, and Donovan's Brain. In 1952, she married Ronald Reagan who was then president of the Screen Actors Guild. They had two children together. Reagan was the First Lady of California when her husband was Governor from 1967 to 1975 and she began to work with the Foster Grandparents Program.
Nancy Reagan became First Lady of the United States in January 1981, following her husband's victory in the 1980 presidential election. She was criticized early in his first term largely due to her decision to replace the White House china, despite its being paid for by private donations. She aimed to restore a touch of Kennedy-esque glamour to the White House following years of relative informality, and her interest in high-end fashion garnered much attention as well as criticism. She championed recreational drug prevention causes by founding the "Just Say No" drug awareness campaign, which was considered her major initiative as First Lady. More controversy ensued when it was revealed in 1988 that she had consulted an astrologer to assist in planning the president's schedule after the attempted assassination of her husband in 1981. She had a strong influence on her husband and played a role in a few of his personnel and diplomatic decisions.
The Reagans retired to their home in Bel Air, Los Angeles, California, in 1989. Nancy devoted most of her time to caring for her husband, diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 1994, until his death at the age of 93 in 2004. Nancy remained active within the Reagan Library and in politics.

She was just such an imperious bitch. The epitomy of 'elite' before it became a term for the right to beat the left with. Hard not to let the disdain I have for her husband to spill over onto her. RIP.

Given what she was most famous for before she married Bonzo's understudy perhaps the GOP should unzip their flies to half-mast for a few days.

Are they going to refuse to have any hearings regarding a replacement Nancy until after the upcoming election?

Yep, the death of the American middle class, the wealth gap and the creation of multinational corporations so huge even the Government cannot control them can be traced back to Reagan's tax breaks, loose regulation of business, and the insane mega-mergers and corporate acquisitions started under his watch. Hopefully he's in hell or reincarnated as a slug, don't know if she'll join him.

Read somewhere that the scrawny old bag used to consult a astrologer then try and stick her nose in govt affairs while Ronnie was in the White house.

I don't know about her Politically, good or bad... but she adored her husband was very protective of him. I respect and admire her and RR (despite what damage he/they may, or may not have done politically)...

    RIP first lady.

    Complete and utter bilge.

Reagan supported Paul Volcker in his successful measures to eradicate the dreadful stagflation that crippled the US in the late Seventies. The increased government spend sanctioned by the Reagan administrations was perhaps the single most effective weapon in destroying the Soviet system.

De-regulation and the supremacy of the fiat banking system is simply a function of a non-inflationary economy and had fuck all to do with Reagan who was perhaps the last American president to rigidly stick to a fiscal policy of controlling the money supply by maintaining high interest rates even though that meant short term unpopularity.

Reagan was a fine president in many ways.
