Have you seen these kids when they leave their estates and enter the real World where they can barely speak in a comprehensible language ?
They are completely unfit to enter the work force or to even communicate with people whom are not from estates .
They have a huge self esteem from their gang superiority on the streets and they all want high flying jobs in the music industry , but they dont realise that they are just stupid kids without the education , or work ethic to be anything other than drug sellers or muggers

Trust the "Londoners" to claim the "movement"...

As Betty says, this has been going on everywhere since the beginning of language...Everything is in flux and sometimes it's harder for those to accept some change and see it as creativity...

Nothing wrong with a new twist on language...

The trick is to know the rules before you break them, or you'll be classed a "retard"...

It isnt change, its just some passing fad used by kids who will grow out of it when they realise that their communication with others is hindered

Some new "terms" eventually evolve into the language and are recorded in dictionaries every year...Of course, it's change...It's all part of the whole...

New words are formed with the progression of society , but the words in question from this article. like "Moist, Fam , wicked, sick " will not change their original meaning to mean what the street kids mean then to mean .....do you know what I mean ?

Actually, "wicked" was common by school kids, myself at 11-12 YO included, in the early 60's. It meant "good or great", the opposite of its definition, even then. Boston is known for using wicked differently, usually to mean very as in "wicked good or wicked bad".

Speaking in the vernacular among adolescents in an argot that excludes comprehension by others not included within a social grouping (usually anyone over the age of 18) has long been a feature generating a faux exclusivity not available in other circumstances.
Essentially, it is puerile but commercialisation has ensured a longevity not assured by a mere common usage although as a form of language it can have a currency transcending faddism e.g. rhyming slang.
Rapping by coons is of course horrendous and should die.

How long did it take you to write that utter tripe, thegent?...That's much worse than the Londoners' attempt at communication...

No wonder you're grossly misunderstood...Time to change your knickers once more, old bean...

All societies have slang, but what's more interesting is the difference in language and slang due to culture. Slang will be a reflection of the groups of different inhabitants and their backgrounds.

I believe Noam Chomsky wrote a lot of stuff about this in his linguistics research.

Nothing wrong with a few new words, slang etc.
The problem is the "speed" at which its evolving.

Probably heightened as much by social media as by commercialisation.

It would appear that you approve white trash slang above all else. Makes sense.
