Woman complains her meal was 'ruined' by heart attack victim

Social media users are sharing their support for an Indiana restaurant that catered to a customer experiencing a heart attack on New Year's Eve. (Kilroy’s Bar N’ Grill)

The Facebook post of an irate diner who slammed a restaurant for tending to a sick woman on New Year’s Eve has gone viral.

Holly Jones, a hairstylist from Indiana, was dining at Kilroy’s Bar N’ Grill in Indianapolis on New Year’s Eve when her meal was interrupted by a sick woman eating at the restaurant with her family, reports the Daily Mail.

While waitstaff tended to the patron, Jones reportedly felt that her dinner service suffered and took to Facebook just before 2 a.m. on New Year’s Day to complain about the experience.

The post, which has since been deleted, began: “I will never go back to this location for New Year’s Eve!!! After the way we were treated when we spent $700+ and having our meal ruined by watching a dead person being wheeled out from an overdose my night has been ruined!!!”

Jones continued: “Every year we have come to Kilroys to enjoy New Years Eve and tonight we were screamed at and had the manager walk away from us while were trying to figure out our bill being messed up. The manager also told us someone dying was more important then us being there making us feel like our business didn’t matter, but I guess allowing a Junkie in the building to overdose on your property is more important then paying customers who are spending a lot of money!!”

She concludes: “Our waitress when we were trying to ask about our bill being messed up also said “what do you want me to do f****** pay your bill for you?” What a great way to talk to a paying customer!!! I get that working on New Years Eve a stressful but being a complete b**** to us all night knowing you get an automatic gratuity is not right!!!”

But according to Kilroy's restaurant manager Chris Burton, the “junkie” was actually a 57-year-old woman who had a heart attack. The woman, who has not been identified, had to be treated on the bar room floor until paramedics arrived.

Burton quickly responded to Jones’ online rant (his post was deleted along with hers but not before multiple users were able to grab a screenshot), calling her “disgusting” and accusing her of making a waitress cry during her shift.

“First of all, the “overdosing junkie” that you speak of was a 70+ year old woman who had a heart attack. Thankfully she was finally revived at the hospital and survived. It sounds like you were very concerned about her so I thought you should know. This poor lady, who was celebrating New Years Eve with her husband and son, had to be placed on the floor of a completely packed bar and have her shirt removed in front of everyone so the paramedics could work on her,” wrote the restaurant manager.

“But I can completely understand why you think being intoxicated ***holes that didn’t understand your bill should take priority over human life.”

He concludes that he’s glad Jones won’t be coming back “because we wouldn’t want anyone as cold hearted and nasty as you returning.”

Jones has since deleted her Facebook page but not before issuing one final post, denying she was behind the original complaint to Kilroy’s “I DID NOT POST THAT!!! SOMEONE ELSE DID FROM MY ACCOUNT AND IM VERY UPSET ABOUT IT!!!! IM ASKING EVERYONE WHO SEES IT TO REPORT IT SO WE CAN GET IT TAKEN DOWN!!!! IM DISGUSTED AND EMBARRASSED THAT MY NAME IS ATTACHED TO IT!!!”

But the hairstylist’s denial hasn’t protected her from the Internet’s swift and brutal backlash.

Facebook users who discovered she worked at Serenity Salon in Indianapolis have begun attacking the salon’s social media page, lambasting the stylist’s cruel behavior.

“You have a horrible bitch of a human being working at your establishment. She's bringing embarrassment to you, herself and her family as well. You'd be best to rid yourself of this cancer, and terminate her employment immediately,” wrote one user.

“Holly Jones wrote a hateful post on social media and received backlash. It may have gone better for her, but she perpetuated the issue by not owning it, instead making a ridiculous claim that her account was hacked and the hacker posted a bar review,” wrote another.

Serenity has since posted about the incident, informing users that the salon does not condone Jones’ alleged behavior and asking that people not attack the salon over the viral post.

Tohnna Wymer, the daughter of the woman who had a heart attack, has created a GoFundMe page to help cover the costs of her mother’s medical bills while she undergoes treatment in the ICU at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Serenity Salon and Kilroy have both shared the link to the GoFundMe site on their respective Facebook pages.

My thoughts too. That's a lot of burger chuck to get through.. Hopefully, the next heart attack will be hers.

A New Year's Party. Not just 2 people. 10 people each with a typical Indianapolis order of 10 burgers, 5 pounds of fries, and a gallon of diet coke so they don't get fat could easily hit 700 bucks

Bar and grill. Conjures up steaks and whiskey/beer in my mind, not burgers and coke.
    Looks upmarket as well..

Looked it up. Sports bar joint. $5.00 drinks. BBQ and stuff. Doesn't look like much.
