Sailor rescued from overturned boat after 66 days

A sailor who says he spent two months lost at sea has been rescued after apparently surviving on raw fish and rainwater.
Louis Jordan, 37, was found by a passing German tanker 200 miles off the North Carolina coast on Thursday.
His 35-foot sailboat had overturned and Mr Jordan was sitting on the hull, from where he was hoisted to safety.
His family reported him missing at the end of January, and when his father spoke to him after the rescue, he said: "I thought I lost you."
    Rajini Vaidyanathan reports.

    A cheery photo.

Looks like raw fish and rainwater isn't all that bad a diet.

News: live for the sensational moment.

    Never mind the historic comparatives.

Hangabout...i smell something fishy. He looks in remarkable condition for someone who spent a couple of months lying on an upturned boat. No sunburn even? Weight loss???

Callahan's situation was re-created in an episode of "I shouldn't be alive". He survived far longer, mainly cos he was an expert sailor and had a couple of solar stills with him...

I think he went walkabout for a while, but doesn't want to admit it. And how the hell can you catch fish like that?

2+ months on an upturned boat in the North Atlantic in the dead of winter and he was worried about doing his laundry?

Was he expecting the Baywatch girls to come rescue him or something?

Perhaps he weighed like 400 kilos when the boat first capsized!

But how can you jump off your upturned boat, catch a fish and climb back on? I would imagine you have to dive deep to catch a fish. And in doing so you may rock the boat and knock over the cans which are catching your rainwater.

He's either a lucky man or a the best liar.

Cannot find any pics of the upturned boat ...
Perhaps one must assume that it lost it's keel or the ballast therein; the natural righting moment of a keel sail boat would otherwise have taken effect methinks.

Looks to be an ongoing interesting story methinks, lots of facts missing currently.

Just looked up the number of recorded tragic keel failures going back to Tony Bullimore .. ....astounding.
