Basically the article states that a lot of speculation and innuendo are making the rounds . . . some Facebook entries say that he converted to Islam and died for Allah, another suggests a laser beam from a failed American air force test brought him down.

It goes into detail regarding medical possibilities and the procedures allowed under German law - he last undertook a psych eval in 2010.
Nothing has been found in his apartment as yet to point to any 'reasons' . . .

The article ends with both 'sides' playing the Islam card to their advantage . . . one side saying he died for Islam to put fear in the hearts of westerners, the other side ants to use his being an Islamic fanatic to stiffen the resolve of westerners not to kowtow to Islam

DÜSSELDORF, Germany (AFP) – The co-pilot thought to have deliberately crashed his Germanwings jet into the French Alps, killing all 150 aboard, kept secret the fact that he was written off sick on the day, German prosecutors said Friday.

Searches of his homes had netted "medical documents that suggest an existing illness and appropriate medical treatment", including "torn-up and current sick leave notes, among them one covering the day of the crash," they said.

This "backs up the suspicion" that Andreas Lubitz – who reportedly suffered from severe depression – "hid his illness from his employer and his colleagues", said prosecutors in the western city of Duesseldorf in a statement.

They said that "interviews on this subject and the evaluation of medical records will take several more days" and that the outcome would be made public "once reliable evidence is available".

Authorities did not find a "suicide note or a confession", or any evidence that the co-pilot's actions may have been motivated by "a political or religious background".

Officers had on Thursday combed through a flat Lubitz kept in Duesseldorf as well as the house where he lived with his parents in the small western town of Montabaur.

So what next? Do we get two pilots suffering from depression in one cockpit?

Or ban crew from making requests to fly together in case they're planning a suicide pact?

Most experts in the aviation industry have been writing that Malaysian 370 was most likely a pilot suicide, so Germanwings may already be a copycat nutter.
The National Geographic air disaster show made well before this latest crash ends with a scenario of the Captain locking the co-pilot out, and is identical to what happened in Germanwings.
