US Charges 3 With Conspiring to Support Islamic State

    NEW YORK—
U.S. authorities charged three men Wednesday with conspiring to support Islamic State. A statement published on the Federal Bureau of Investigation web site said two of the men planned to travel to Syria to fight on behalf of the radical group.

One of the men, Akhror Saidakhmetov, 19, of Kazakhstan was arrested early Wednesday at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, where authorities said he was attempting to board a flight to Turkey on his way to Syria.

Another defendant, Abdurasul Hasanovich Juraboev, 24, of Uzbekistan, had previously purchased a ticket for a March flight to Istanbul, said Loretta Lynch, U.S. Attorney in Brooklyn.

Abror Habibov, 30, of Uzbekistan, was accused of helping to fund Saidakhmetov's efforts, prosecutors said. All three men live in Brooklyn.

^ So it would appear not buying your airline ticket until the last minute might save you some scrutiny by the Feds.

Why are people from these countries "living" in the US?

    More visa / immigration foolishness.

Because the US, in their infinite wisdom, allows everyone in who has a half-assed bullshit story.

We need to close our borders if this is truly a war on terror. Obama is such a wimp.

But the borders are open in the south with Illegals walking in, getting on a tax payer paid for bus with cash hand outs to buy stuff, tax refunds and allowed to vote almost from day one etc

It would be so easy for a terrorist group to go to Mexico and walk into the US, get the driving license day one and buy a load of guns and attack the MALL OF AMERICA and yet it does not happen. Should perhaps make you wonder why they don't do this?

Guess all flights from all western points to Istanbul will be scrutinized now. Many ways to skin a cat. From USA to any western Europe nation then overland to Bulgaria, or over the Med by ferry.
